- Hi. Here's some Aurora material I downloaded.
I'm really getting into this stuff - I think it's mainly because the thing
has actually been here in Scotland.
-
- One of my colleagues at xxx is a former
RAF air traffic controller and I was quizzing him about it today. They
all knew about it although, officially, it didn't exist. It was tested
out of Machrihanish as we know. Whenever it was there, ALL RAF personnel
were removed from the base.
-
- Take-offs and landings were done under
cover of darkness with runway and aircraft lights switched off. Air trafic
control would be told prior to a take-off that nothing was coming out of
Machrihanish for the next 5 minutes. Also, the transponders on the plane
could be set to show that it was flying at an altitude different to where
it actually was (I don't understand what that means!). The figures seem
to be accurate about a Mach 6 cruising speed.
-
- Anyway, if I get any more details, I'll
pass them on. Let me know if you have any other info.
-
- Cheers
