Turkey
Vows to Continue Supporting Terrorists in Syria |
|
By Stephen Lendman |
Liberating Syria and preserving its sovereignty depend on eliminating
the US-created and supported terrorist scourge menacing its people - ISIS
the main threat. As long as Washington and other rogue states keep recruiting, arming, funding, training and providing imported death squads with continued material support, endless conflict will rage. New recruits will replace eliminated ones. Ankara allied with Washington, other key NATO partners, Saudi Arabia, Israel and other rogue states assure cessation of hostilities and conflict resolution are unachievable. Turkey is a fascist police state, Erdogan a prototypical world-class thug, his second in command Ahmet Davutoglu a caricature of a prime minister. Together they show why Turkey is a sham democracy. Elections when held are farcical. Fundamental rights don’t exist. International law principles are systematically breached. Interviewed by Al Jazeera last week, Davutoglu praised anti-government elements in Syria - failing to explain they’re imported foreign supported death squads, committing appalling atrocities, terrorizing civilians, given safe haven in Turkey, able to move freely cross border with regime support. According to Davutoglu, “(h)ow (could these elements) be able to defend themselves if there was no Turkish support of the Syrian people.” “If there’s today a real moderate Syrian opposition, it’s because of the Turkish support. If today (Assad) isn’t able to control all the territories (it’s) because of Turkish and some other countries’ support.” Ankara “will be doing everything for Syrian brothers and sisters - without asking any assistance from anywhere - for refugees as well as for the heroic people in Syria…all Syrians, those, who are raising their voice against this aggression by the regime, by terrorists like YPG, Daesh, who are invading Syria today, like Russia and Iran.” Reality is polar opposite his ravings. No moderate elements exist. All anti-government forces are terrorists. Assad responsibly defends his long-suffering people, victims of US imperialism. Davutoglu disgracefully accused Russia of ethnic cleansing and creating a major refugee crisis. Why anyone takes him seriously is hard to understand. Al Jazeera is owned, controlled and operated by the Qatari dictatorship, allied with Washington, Turkey and other rogue states, committed to raping and destroying Syria, one of the world’s greatest crimes. Ankara terrorizes its people. It continues butchering Turkish, Iraqi and Syrian Kurds, fully supported by Washington. Its policies risk direct confrontation with Russia. Its cross-border shelling and material support for terrorists violate the agreed on cessation of hostilities in Syria since implemented on February 27. Like neocons infesting Washington, Erdogan, Davutoglu and likeminded extremists in Turkey want endless war, instability and chaos, not peace and preservation of Syrian sovereignty. Russia understands the challenges it faces. So far, Putin masterfully outwitted Obama, foiling his regional imperial agenda, gaining a strategic advantage he’s not about to relinquish.
