Why Haven't States Kicked Monsanto Out?

By Devvy Kidd
11-3-14

The elections tomorrow affect all branches of government, local, state and federal. Please get out and vote. The plethora of issues plaguing this country are too many as we know. Many can be permanently cured but haven't because of political agendas. Tragically for our country the same applies to the poisoning of our food supply and drinking water.

If Monsanto as a company passes by the average American's radar, they likely don't give it a second thought. Corporation, something to do with, uh, agriculture? Farmers, ranchers and Americans who want healthy food are well aware of that corporation and the destruction they've caused not just here in America, but around the world.

Instead of protecting the American people and our food supply, incumbents for sale to the highest bidder in the Outlaw Congress- the ones who will get reelected tomorrow - passed legislation to protect the destroyers. The Monsanto Protection Act is not law since it was signed by a criminal impostor in the White House who usurped the office by fraud. Any member of the Outlaw Congress who voted for that Act should never serve in public office again, it's that egregious:

'Monsanto Protection Act': 5 Terrifying Things To Know About The HR 933 Provision

"1.) The "Monsanto Protection Act" effectively bars federal courts from being able to halt the sale or planting of controversial genetically modified (aka GMO) or genetically engineered (GE) seeds, no matter what health issues may arise concerning GMOs in the future. The advent of genetically modified seeds -- which has been driven by the massive Monsanto Company -- and their exploding use in farms across America came on fast and has proved a huge boon for Monsanto's profits.

"But many anti-GMO folks argue there have not been enough studies into the potential health risks of this new class of crop. Well, now it appears that even if those studies are completed and they end up revealing severe adverse health effects related to the consumption of genetically modified foods, the courts will have no ability to stop the spread of the seeds and the crops they bear."

Naturally, "my" Senator, John Cornyn [R-TX] who has consistently voted to kill the Bill of Rights voted yes as did the know nothing who "serves" me in the House, Randy Neugebauer [R-TX].

Some think it's not civil to refer to members of Congress as little better than hookers on the street corner. Really? When one knows the facts and the truth and elected politicians pass laws to protect lies which endanger the health of Americans for filthy lucre, are they any different than prostitutes? Extensive List of Politicians Paid Off by Monsanto - Go look at the money - think Monsanto expected nothing in return? Look at the list and compare it with the vote on the Monsanto Protection Act link above. And, do notice: Monsanto bought off both parties.

Let me give you but a few items about Monsanto that will open your eyes:

Comparison of GMO and non-GMO corn - the real statistics will astound you!

"GMO corn contains alarming glyphosate levels. The amount of formaldehyde and glyphosate in GMO corn is unbelievable. To break it down, American EPA standards allow glyphosate in water of up to .7ppm. European tests indicate that animals begin experiencing liver damage at .0001 ppm of glyphosate in water. Putting these two statistics together, America's water levels contain glyphosate that is 7,000 times greater than the amount required for animal liver damage! GMO corn takes that statistic up yet another notch. GMO corn contains 13 ppm of glyphosate, or the equivalent of 130,000 times more toxicity than EPA water standards!

"The formaldehyde level of GMO corn is unspeakable. In a similar study on GMO corn, Dr. Huber found out that animals avoid GMO corn at all costs. When given a choice between both GMO and non GMO varieties of corn, animals always go for the real organic corn. Huber also found out that .97ppm of formaldehyde is toxic to animals. The GMO corn he tried to give the animals contained 200 times that amount!"

Hungary Destroys All Monsanto GMO Corn Fields

Monsanto found guilty of chemical poisoning in landmark case: "A French farmer who can no longer perform his routine farming duties because of permanent pesticide injuries has had his day in court, literally, and the perpetrator of his injuries found guilty of chemical poisoning. The French court in Lyon ruled that Monsanto's Lasso weedkiller formula, which contains the active ingredient alachlor, caused Paul Francois to develop lifelong neurological damage that manifests as persistent memory loss, headaches, and stuttering during speech."

New Study Links GMO Food To Leukemia: "A groundbreaking new study published in the current issue of the Journal of Hematology & Thromboembolic Diseases reveals the potential "leukemogenic" properties of the Bt toxin biopesticides engineered into the vast majority of GMO food crops already within the US food supply."

Torturing Animals with Monsanto's Genetically Engineered Feed

"But what happens when animals are confined in cramped, filthy environments and force-fed monoculture diets of genetically modified corn and soy? A lot can happen. Calves are born too weak to walk, with enlarged joints and limb deformities. Piglets experience rapidly deteriorating health, a "failure to thrive" so severe that they start breaking down their own tissues and organs self-cannibalizing to survive. Many animals suffer from weak, brittle bones that easily fracture. Dairy cows develop mastitis, a painful udder infection. Beef cattle develop liver abscesses and an excruciating condition referred to as "twisted gut." It all adds up to a lot of misery for animals unfortunate enough to be on the receiving end of industrial agriculture's Big GMO Experiment."

Don Quijones: Judge Turns Monsanto’s Mexican GMO Dream Into Legal Nightmare

"However, if recent events in Europe and Latin America are any indication, the tide may well be subtly turning against the interests of Monsanto and its fellow GMO oligopolies and in the favor of independent food growers and consumers. Despite their tireless lobbying efforts in Brussels, the “Big Six” (Monsanto, Du Pont Pioneer, Syngenta, Vilmorin, Winfield and KWS) continue to hit a brick wall of resistance in many of Europe's biggest markets, including Germany and France. As I reported in April this year, popular resistance is on the rise across Latin America, as indigenous and peasant communities rise up against government legislation that would apply brutally rigid intellectual copyright laws to the crop seeds they are able to grow.

"The latest country to put a spanner in the works is Mexico. This past week the country's Federal Court voted to uphold Judge Marroquín Zaleta’s 2013 ruling to suspend the granting of licenses for GMO field trials sought by Monsanto, Syngenta, Dow, Pionner-Dupont and Mexico's SEMARNAT (Environment and Natural Resources Ministry). Zaleta’s ruling was in response to a suit brought by a collective of 53 scientists and 22 civil rights organizations and NGOs.

"In defending his ruling, Zaleta cited the potential risks to the environment posed by GMO corn. If the biotech industry got its way, he argued, more than 7000 years of indigenous maize cultivation in Mexico would be endangered, with the country's 60 varieties of corn directly threatened by cross-pollination from transgenic strands. Monsanto’s response was as swift as it was brutal: not only did it and its lackeys in the Mexican government appeal Zaleta’s ruling, it also demanded his removal from the bench on the grounds that he had already stated his opinion on the case before sentencing.

"However, Monsanto’s bullying tactics failed to impress the Mexican judges. On August 15, the court convened to review Zaleta’s alleged bias ruled against the U.S. corporation's legal suit. Also spurned by the Mexican courts was the world's third largest GMO seed manufacturer, Syngenta, whose reapplication for a license to run test trials of its maize crops was rejected this week by the Federal Court."

Monsanto Company (MON) Formally Joins Global Agenda 21 Front Group: "The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) has put out a press release, announcing that Monsanto has joined the effort for “global sustainable development”. The Council consists of several global mega-corporations such as Dutch Royal Shell and Coca Cola, to mention just a few."
Monsanto’s GMO Food and its Dark Connections to the “Military Industrial Complex”

Ft. McClellen Military Base Poisoned with Monsanto’s Leftover Chemicals

"Nearly 500,000 men were trained there for WWII, and thousands more men and women have stayed there since its re-opening. In recent years, Veterans have started blowing the whistle on Monsanto, as they believe the company is responsible for the mass poisoning of service members at the site.

"The veterans suspected that PCBs were being released by Monsanto. For decades, the biotech and seed company, also a former military contractor for bioweapons, dumped tons of the chemicals around Anniston, Alabama, where the base is located. The controversy culminated in 2003 in a $700 million settlement with residents, but the problems persist. Some service members are now reporting higher incidence of children born with birth defects."

Toxicology Expert Speaks Out About Roundup and Monsanto’s GMOs

"Dr. Don Huber is likely the leading GMO expert in the world. He is an award-winning, internationally recognized scientist, and professor emeritus of plant pathology at Purdue University for the past 35 years. His agriculture research is focused on the epidemiology and control of soil-borne plant pathogens, with specific emphasis on microbial ecology, cultural and biological controls, and the physiology of host-parasite relationships. His research over the past few decades has led him to become very outspoken against genetically modified organisms (GMO) and genetically engineered (GE) foods and the use of Roundup in agriculture in general.

"He's really one of the best scientists we have in the GMO movement for documenting the dangers of genetically engineered foods. “I appreciate the opportunity to share a little bit of my research and the research of many other scientists who are expressing concern; recognizing that we've missed the boat in much of this discussion and much of the process, because it's really a food and health safety issue that we're dealing with here,” he says."

800 Scientists Demand Global GMO “Experiment” End

"The Open Letter from World Scientists to All Governments calls for “the immediate suspension of all environmental releases of GM crops and products, both commercially and in open field trials, for at least 5 years.” They also want patents on organisms, cell lines, and living things revoked and banned. Such patents (a sort of corporate version of “playing God,”) “threaten food security, sanction biopiracy of indigenous knowledge and genetic resources, violate basic human rights and dignity, compromise healthcare, impede medical and scientific research and are against the welfare of animals. ”And as Anthony Gucciardi recently detailed on NaturalSociety, this would be bad news for Monsanto following the recent Supreme Court decision that they have the ‘right’ to patent life."

The war against Monsanto poisoning our food supply while torturing poor farm animals at the same time has been going on for a long time. The prostitutes in the U.S. Congress has put any judicial oversight out of reach by giving immunity to the guilty party. Most Americans likely have no idea what GMOs are and why, just like the aerosol spraying of our skies and 'smart' meters slowly killing humans, destroying crops, torturing animals and killing our environment, they should reject them.

Of course, it's all about big money - BIG money:

How Monsanto and Big-Ag are Fighting Back Against Anti-GMO Activism

"Between 2012 and mid-2014, Monsanto and the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) successfully blocked GMO labeling legislation in over 30 states, at a price tag of more than $100 million. These funds were received from the 300+ members of the GMA, which include chemical/pesticide, GE seed, and processed food industries. Together, these industries are working in a symbiotic fashion to grow, subsidize, and manufacture foods that have been clearly linked to growing obesity and chronic disease epidemics.

"According to the most recent analysis, opponents of GMO labeling spent more than $27 million on lobbying in the first six months of this year alone. This is about three times more than they spent during all of 2013, when they shelled out $9.3 million. The Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) and major food makers such as Coca-Cola Co and PepsiCo Inc and top biotech seed makers Monsanto Co and DuPont were among heavy spenders on GMO labeling-related lobbying, among other food issues, according to a report issued by the Environmental Working Group,” Reuters1 reports."

Your health and the health of your family doesn't mean squat to those mega-corporations. All they want is your money. They don't get mine.

What can be done? What Vermont did and act surprised - guess who is suing them?

U.S. food makers sue to stop Vermont's GMO labeling law

(Reuters) -" Several industry groups representing U.S. food makers on Thursday asked a federal judge in Vermont to block that state's new law that will require labels on food products made with genetically modified organisms (GMOs). The legal challenge was widely expected and Vermont created a "food fight fund" in anticipation of the move because it was the first state to pass a GMO labeling law that did not require other states to go first.

"The fight over GMOs in the United States comes as more than 60 countries around the globe already require labeling of genetically engineered foods. GMOs have fallen out of favor with many U.S. consumers but products made with them are still abundant in the aisles of most U.S. supermarkets.

"Connecticut and Maine last year passed GMO labeling legislation similar to that of Vermont, but it is on hold until several other states enact such legislation. Challengers to the Vermont law, set to take effect on July 1, 2016, are the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA), the Snack Food Association, the International Dairy Foods Association and the National Association of Manufacturers."

Those entities care nothing about your health only about the cost to them for labeling. The problem is the food products, not labeling. Put a label on poison, but go ahead and ingest it. Does that make any sense? Well, here's a cheap solution: Ban GMO crops, dairy and any other food sources in all the states along with GMO seeds and there will be no need for the fight over labeling. Oh, can't do that! There's too much money at stake and the hell with your health.

First, refuse to purchase any GMO foods diary products or fish. Starve the industry so it becomes unprofitable just like in Europe. Stores like Whole Foods while not perfect, have made good progress in labeling and warning about GMO products. Many others are doing to the same. One just has to read the labels and ask questions. I made sure none of the ingredients in food for my doggies is GMO; I buy organic for my girls. I called the toll free line and ask very specific questions. Tell your grocer or the meat/fish department: I can't find healthy this or that and I refuse to buy any GMO products. It works. It's been slowly but surely working for the Made in USA movement. We just have to make our voices heard and fight back with our consumer dollars.

Since the parasites in the Outlaw Congress - all those great incumbents who betrayed us and will be reelecteed tomorrow - have given immunity to Monsanto, getting rid of that evil corporation has to come from the state legislatures. Oh, I know, most of them are just as uninformed as your next door neighbor and too many only to stay in office for power. Believe me, as regular readers of my columns know and my fellow writers who are also activists, too many state legislators know nothing about things like the disabilities of our money system, Agenda 21, the constitutional militia, the chemical spaying of our skies, 'smart' meters -- things like that are just "conspiracy theories".

Monsanto should be refused any business or corporate licensing to drive them out of the states of the Union. Ban all Monsanto GMO seeds and protect your state's agriculture. As you can see from the column above, Monsanto along with the GMA, Coca-Cola and PepsiCo (neither of those two have made five bux off me my entire life) have been winning the fight using the ballot box; I am convinced vote fraud killed a victory in California two years ago.

In those battle ground states like California where the issue was allegedly defeated, you can't tell me the state legislature doesn't know all about the Monsanto issue. Hell, yes, state legislatures do know and instead of acting like statesmen and putting the health of their citizens first, legislators have left it up to the people to use their limited monetary resources to fight a corporate giant like Monsanto. I know thousands of good, decent Americans work for Monsanto; depend on those paychecks. But, Monsanto cannot be allowed to continue poisoning our food supply, the environment and the truly disgusting torture of farm animals.

This is no different than our 'smart' meter fight here in Texas where the legislature did nothing forcing us to spend our money for legal bills that does not go back into the economy instead of slapping down the energy companies and banning those dangerous meters. The only way to get Monsanto kicked out of states of the Union (besides massive consumer resistance) is for huge numbers of citizens, farmers, ranchers to hammer on their state house, hold rallies where thousands and thousands of people show up (like the successful battle in California to ban MTBE in the gasoline) and put the fear of the people in those legislators. Just like this fight in 2000 - a very inspiring story:

Tennesseans stage tax revolt - Massive revolt at state Capitol stops new income-tax plan: NASHVILLE, Tenn. — "Police cars blockaded Tennessee state Capitol entrances and troopers patrolled legislative hallways this week as the state legislature found itself under siege by thousands of angry taxpayers upset at a plan to implement a state income tax."

I know everyone is just buried in "issues", but I always say priority vs importance and our health and family's well being has to be at the top. As in the successful battle against MTBE now banned in all states, you start with a group going to the agriculture committee in your state legislature and bring them a factual package of articles, any scientific papers and things like the open letter from those 800 scientists (in the link above) and tell them: Kick Monsanto our of our state. They are poisoning our food supply. Our farmers are suffering cross-contamination of crops and animals are being needlessly tortured all for big profits.

If that doesn't work, then before your legislature goes out of session next year (many as early as April like ours here in Texas who then won't come back until 2017) have those rallies. Contact radio stations, network and make the most noise. The people over in European nations get out by the hundreds of thousands when they demand something. Look at the folks over in Hungary:

Hungary's Orban puts Internet tax on hold after huge protests (massive street protests). Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban: "This tax in its current form cannot be introduced," Orban told public radio. "If the people not only dislike something but also consider it unreasonable then it should not be done."

There have been some victories but only because people have fought back. While this one isn't about GMOs, it shows just how evil Monsanto is. No doubt they filed an appeal before the ink was dry:

Monsanto Ordered to Pay $93 Million to Small Town for Poisoning Citizens (July 25, 2014): "Big wins can happen in small places. The West Virginia State Supreme Court finalized a big blow to the biotech giant Monsanto this month, finishing a settlement causing Monsanto to pay $93 million to the tiny town of Nitro, West Virginia for poisoning citizens with Agent Orange chemicals. The settlement was approved last year, but details were worked out only weeks ago as to how the funds were to be spent."

Everyone must watch this full length movie - especially state legislators and governors if they even care one minute about their own health.
