- Because of religious dominance stuck in the ancient rituals
of the past, India's people refuse to engage birth control or discuss or
deal with their human quagmire. According to recent figures, India adds
11 million people annually, net gain, on their way to 1.6 billion by 2050.
They will surpass China as the largest population in the world.
-
- At the same time, medical figures show that in excess
of 10 million Indians do not enjoy toilets or clean water. Therefore,
they contaminate fields, rivers, lakes and streets with human waste. An
average of 1,000 children die every day in India from dysentery, diarrhea
and other water-borne diseases. (Source: www.populationmedia.org)

- While India is the fastest growing country in the world,
the United States is the 4th fastest growing country in the world as it
expects to add another 100 million people within 24 years by 2035 and 138
million people by 2050 to reach 438 million from its current 312 million.
From 438 million, America expects to add another 100 million by 2075 and
continue growing toward 1.0 billion.

- "Though the country's population is almost equal
to the combined population of the U.S., Indonesia, Brazil, Pakistan, Bangladesh
and Japan put together [1214.3 million], the silver lining is that 2001-2011
is the first decade with the exception of 1911-1921 which has actually
added lesser population compared to the previous decade," said a spokesperson
for Uncommon New. "Of the total provisional population of 1210.2 million,
the number of males was pegged at 623.7 million and the population of females
stood at 586.5 million. The percentage growth in 2001-2011 was 17.64
males 17.19 and females 18.12. India's population accounts for world's
17.5 per cent population."
-
- "Provisional population is arrived at by adding
the population as reported by each enumerator and the final population
data is likely to be released next year,'' Dr. Chandramouli told reporters
here.
-
- Nothing good can come from India's continued population
growth.
- Countless millions live in mind-numbing poverty, misery
and human suffering. It can only grow worse.

- As Thomas Jefferson once said, "We have the wolf
by the ears and we can neither hold him or let him go." I suggest
we take destiny into our hands by taking action in the logical direction
by moving our civilization toward a stable population.
