Ahmadinejad, Pike Featured
On Google Video

By Rev. Ted Pike
12-12-7

Many Christian/conservatives decry the threat to freedom of speech posed by hate crimes laws but vehemently protest President Ahmadinejad's right to speak his mind to the western world.

As politicians and opinion-makers drumbeat our nation toward war with Iran, the world should understand what Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad actually believes.

Author Mark Glenn, who organized the recent "No More Wars for Israel" conference, requested and received a video statement to the conference from Ahmadinejad. Unfortunately, only the first 4 minutes of the 7-minute address recorded properly. In them, Ahmadinejad describes international Jewish political/media control and Israel as the primary impediments to Mid-East peace. The available video can be viewed on Google. (The remainder will be added when it arrives from Iran.)

This is a high-quality English translation produced by Nader Talebzadeh, Iran's premiere filmmaker, who studied filmmaking at Columbia University. Talebzadeh produced Iran's popular movie and TV epic Messiah, now showing to packed audiences everywhere in Iran. With 1000 extras, this Islamic view of Jesus honors Christ not as the Son of God but divinely conceived through the virgin Mary. Christ is portrayed as Israel's last prophet, come to announce the prophet Mohammed. Saved from crucifixion by Allah, He ascends to heaven on the night of the last supper. Talebzadeh says, "In my film, Jesus is revered very highly and works even more miracles than in the Bible. We await His coming back to earth at the end of time, when faithful Christians and Muslims will fight side by side in a huge battle."

The recent National Intelligence Estimates Report debunked Iran's nuclear threat. Considering that and Iran's warm reception of this Moslem equivalent of The Passion of Christ, one wonders if evangelicals in America, especially followers of John Hagee, might relax their trigger fingers a little. They should at least listen to Ahmadinejad's point of view.

For too long, Americans have listened only to war cries against Iran by Israel, a nation which possesses at least 200 nuclear warheads and does not celebrate but denigrates Jesus. Israel outlaws most Christian evangelism and discriminates against His message and followers. (See, https://www.truthtellers.org/alerts/christiansinisraelrepost.html -- Christians in Israel: An Endangered Species Part II)

Jesus modeled open communication. No one ever had more disregard for the taboo of "guilt-by-association" than Jesus. He freely mingled with the high and low, the respectable as well as social outcasts, in hopes He might save some.

The need for free exchange of opinions is just as vital in international relations. Without it, there is no way to stop war.

Ted Pike's New Video, Betrayed, Follows Ahmadinejad

My new 21-minute video report, Betrayed: How New Right Leaders Endangered Freedom, follows Ahmadinejad's message. This is an updated, shortened version of my October video report "Betrayed: How New Right Leaders Helped Pass the Hate Bill." This shocking expose documents how both evangelical leaders and Republican Senators went virtually silent in opposition to the hate bill, allowing it to pass on Sept. 27. Yet my new video concludes by documenting how some new right leaders redeemed themselves by playing a pivotal role in defeating the hate bill on Dec. 6.

The hate bill remains a great danger in this Congress. ADL cries crocodile tears and says the hate bill now "languishes" for another year. Don't believe them! They want the political/religious right to relax its guard, to stop watching the hate bill. That's what evangelicals did last summer after being promised a Presidential veto.

For the next year, Sens. Kennedy and Smith have every right to suddenly reintroduce the hate bill in the Senate as stand-alone legislation. House Speaker Pelosi promises to do all she can in this term of Congress to deliver a hate bill to the President. Earlier this year, Sen. Smith's office told me that, should the hate bill amendment be rejected, they fully plan to move it forward, possibly as a stand-alone bill. Certainly, ADL will reintroduce it in the next Congress, little more than a year away.

The National Prayer Network wants to create very widespread dissatisfaction with the Republican Senators who failed to effectively oppose the hate bill last September. Americans must pressure them toward much more vehement opposition on the floor of the Senate should the hate bill be reintroduced in this Congress.

To encourage such accountability, we have e-mailed a press release (with link to the video) to 4,863 Republican leaders in America, including virtually all Republican state legislators. Also included are the news desks of nearly every Christian/conservative radio and TV station in America.

By saturating Republican state legislators, we want to stimulate repeal of state hate laws. If ADL cannot obtain their cherished prize, an all-encompassing federal hate law, they will make use of their state laws for the reason they were created: persecuting Christians.

Several years ago Georgia's ADL hate law was declared unconstitutional because it was too broad -- it gave special protection to too many types and groups of people. Recently, ADL's Pennsylvania hate law was also declared unconstitutional; under this law 11 Christians were arrested in 2004 for the "hate crime" of witnessing to homosexuals. We must exert every effort to repeal hate laws.  Christians will not be safe until state hate laws suffer the same fate as the federal hate bill last week.

We have 45 states to go.
