- ATLANTA - The percentage of Americans who have tuned into radio stations
via the Internet doubled in the second half of 1998, according to a study
released this week.

- The Arbitron Company said its study,
conducted with Edison Media Research, indicated that 13 percent of all
Americans have listened to radio on the Internet, up from only 6 percent,
based on its previous study, conducted in July, 1998.

- At total of 1,350 people participated
in the latest study, which was released at the Radio Advertising Bureau
and Marketing Leadership Conference in Atlanta.

- According to Arbitron, 41 percent of
Americans now have access to the Internet, either at home or at work, with
an additional 9 percent accessing the Internet through schools and libraries.
This was up from the 30 percent level reported in the July study.

- Users spend an average of four hours
per week online at home, and 3.4 hours weekly from work.
