Hegseth spoke at the 2018 Arutz Sheva conference in Jerusalem , where he stated "there's no reason why the miracle of the re-establishment of the Temple on the Temple Mount is not possible." [ 27 ] Speaking at the National Council of Young Israel gala in New York City the same year, he said " Zionism and Americanism are the front lines of Western civilization and freedom in our world today." [ 28 ]
