Narrative for trailer to 'Strike Three! Take Your Base' | |
By Frosty Wooldridge | |
“The great Yankee catcher Yogi Berra said about the game of baseball, “It ain’t over, til it’s over.” Two brothers 15 and 17, Rex and Bob, walk off the field with their father after a tough game. Their dad said, “You boys played well today. Rex, you struck out some good batters. Bob, I’m proud of you throwing out that runner at second.” “Thanks dad,” the boys said. The next day, their father umpired the Albany High School game from behind the plate. At the top of the second inning, he called, “Strike Three! Take Your Base.” The batter, confused, looked back. At that moment the umpire clutched his chest, fell over the catcher and died on home plate. So begins an epic battle for two boys to make sense of their world. One following his father’s wisdom with flashbacks, and the other trying to find meaning in the world without his father. Strike Three! Take Your Base depicts two teens locked into a new fatherless world that few understand. The boys continue toward a regional matchup with an opposing team. They must fight their own fears, forge ahead and make their father proud. This compelling story captivates, motivates and inspires millions of Americans who lost their father at an early age. Everyone must go on living their lives to their best abilities. As Yogi Berra said, “It ain’t over, til it’s over.” ## This video graphically and dramatically illustrates America's immigration-population crisis as well as the world's. I wrote it and narrated it.
