Notes From Prof James McCanney On Boiling
And Filtering Your Drinking Water

3-7-24

Hi Jeff, regarding this article...
Boiling and Filtering to Remove Microplastics From  Your Drinking Water https://www.sciencealert.com/ theres-a-surprisingly-simple- way-to-remove-microplastics- from-your-drinking-water

OMG !!!  This is insane ...

First of all, a good filter should remove the nanoparticles to 99% or more...BUT you are going to soon clog the filter.  Why, oh why, would you want to buy bottled water in the first place and then boil and filter it ?!?!?

The plastic is NOT in tap water...that is the entire point...just stop making and packaging water in plastic.  Then to imagine that people are going to buy bottled water (especially the liter, or less, bottles...those little thin ones) ... and then freaking BOIL IT ???

These people are definitely university ivory tower nut cases. Now, all of a sudden, people have to boil their water when we have expensive energy worldwide, and people cannot buy gas for their car or heat their homes and now are expected to boil water?

One of the most energy intensive exercises known to man...waste all that energy and then waste the heat. Are these not the same people clambering about global warming !!!???

NOW here is the real story -  by boiling the water, the nano particles are not just going to go away, they are liquefying, and forming a plastic solvent in the water which then passes right THROUGH the filter because it is no longer nanoparticles but a toxic liquid!  A filter can only do so much and is designed for normal levels of toxins not exaggerated levels put there artificially.  The authors have NO IDEA what they are talking about!   It is like they are saying nanoparticles of plastic in water are ok...just boil it!

NO ONE BUT NO ONE is going to go to the corner gas station and buy a liter bottle of water and then boil it!  What the heck are these people thinking ???

Now let's get even a bit more basic. Why, all of a sudden, are we finding nanoparticles in water bottles (where was this topic before?).  It's all due to recycling. Another green the planet movement gone awry.   You take a toxic plastic bottle full of toxic solvents and grind it up into tiny pieces and 'recycle' it. Then, after that, you use this again.   Guess what?  That process is continually making the sub particles smaller and SMALLER until ... Voila! ....  you have nanoparticles in the water bottle that, of course, are going to leach into the liquid (soda pop, water, etc).

So now the ocean becoming ripe with micro and nano plastic!  It is NOT just what you SEE floating up onto the beaches or collecting on the ocean surface, it is now IN the water in the form of nanoparticles and even worse toxic solvents and spreading worldwide with every passing day.   So, university ivory tower scientists...are you going to boil the oceans now ???
