Suppression Going Beyond Censorship

Rob Spectre

Just your average self-produced super-hero”

"Tragically, Trump Filter cannot be installed on your television," Spectre wrote on his website. "However, we hope that enough installs will be a strong signal to the international media that America is ready to move on from this inveterate jackass.

On Twitter, Spectre declared he "fixed the Internet."

What needs to be 'fixed' here is the inveterate jackass that did this deed.

The Importance of Media to Elections

The media are essential to democracy, and a democratic election is impossible without media. A free and fair election is not only about the freedom to vote and the knowledge of how to cast a vote, but also about a participatory process where voters engage in public debate and have adequate information about parties, policies, candidates and the election process itself in order to make informed choices. Furthermore, media acts as a crucial watchdog to democratic elections, safeguarding the transparency of the process. Indeed, a democratic election with no media freedom, or stifled media freedom, would be a contradiction in terms.”

k - There's a reason for the DELETE KEY on every keyboard. The point is that if you don't wish to know about Trump or whatever he says, you can always delete him: To kill his voice in advance is a violation of fair use of the net, as well as suppression of the comments that make possible free and fair elections. This is no different than what happens in interrogations that take place in Police States around the world—because no prisoner, political or otherwise—ever has any right to speak at all.

In 2005 the yearly World Press Freedom Day international conference produced a declaration that stressed “independent and pluralistic media are essential for ensuring transparency, accountability and participation as fundamental elements of good governance and human-rights based development”. Furthermore, the declaration urges member states to “respect the function of the news media as an essential factor in good governance, vital to increasing both transparency and accountability in decision-making processes and to communicating the principles of good governance to society”.[i]

k - One of the main complaints about American-politics has always been the ability of the public to discern what the candidates really think about the issues of the day, before the election. Mr. Spectre is a hypocrite because he's an advocate for open-source and transparency of the internet, for the internet: Yet he has now written computer code that puts physical limitations on the freedom of one political-candidate to be able to let the public know what his actions would be as president. This gives an undue edge to the other candidates that don't have to face the same kinds of censorship or suppression that Donald Trump is being subjected to.

The head of the Federal Communications Commission promised Thursday to enforce his agency’s regulations requiring television stations to give political candidates equal opportunities for airtime.

The rules are pretty clear. Rules are rules,” FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler told reporters. “I hope that we have developed a reputation as folks who enforce the rules.”

k Apparently Google & Spectre have decide that they can

TRUMP the FCC and it's stated requirements...

Hillary Clinton’s appearance earlier this month on Saturday Night Live could trigger the so-called “equal-time” rules, as could Donald Trump’s plan to host the long-running NBC comedy show next month. That doesn’t necessarily mean Lincoln Chafee will be the next host of SNL—but it could mean that local NBC affiliates across the country will have to give presidential candidates access to equal TV time.

Under a law passed in 1934, the FCC requires broadcast television and radio stations (but not cable channels) to give equal opportunities to “legally qualified” candidates. The law exempts news programs, which the FCC has broadly interpreted to include talk shows like The Tonight Show.”

k However if enough people decide that they can make their voices heard best, by canceling Google Chrome, in direct response to this outrage against Mr. Trump then that too could be a strong indication about which side of this illegal act is the correct side to be with.

Ladies & Gentlemen this is WAR.

If Google-Chrome gets away with this

then who will be the next person to be “disappeared”

from the global internet?
