Observations From The Seattle
Waterfront And Dockyards

From A Site Friend
5-1-22

While in Seattle, I was able to observe the dockyard. There was absolutely NO activity at the dockyards I was able to observe. Containers were stacked six levels high and the entire dockyard was covered with containers... thousands and thousands of containers. I did not see one semi truck moving. I did not see one crane move. I did not see any personnel on the docks with the exception of one or two individuals walking around.

I observed the docks for quite a while and I had my small telescope with me so I was able to see everything quite clearly. There were no ships waiting to be loaded unloaded or just standing by in the sound off of the main docks near where the Alaskan ferry terminal is.

I was very surprised there was no activity at all...nothing was going on. I also drove over to the other side, to West Seattle, and did not see ANY activity there at all...it was stunningly dead. I saw no Marine shipping and container commerce whatsoever. Normally, you will see ships waiting to be loaded unloaded or waiting for whatever reason. There were none.
