MacArthur looking down - standing on the deck with a Chief at the helm (underway)

Admiral Kincaid on the 492 Boat during a strategy meeting after the Philippines Battle (?)

Another picture underway with MacArthur standing on deck looking to the port behind the Chief at the helm. This was taken in Leyte Gulf.

This is another picture of Admiral Kincaid this time showing Lt. Preston, PT 492 CO

Picture of my Dad (top left) before they painted the UZUKI destroyer icon on the bridge after they sank it.
That was the second destroyer sunk by the 492 . My Dad has the pipe and was making fun of Emulating MacArthur!

Article in the Wilkes Barre PA paper regarding the Uzoni Destroyer (not named in the article)
My Dad is stated to be 21 , but he lied about his age to get in.
I believe he was 19 and had turned down 2 offers for promotion to Skipper as he was afraid,
they would find out his real age and send him home.

The Boat was highly upgraded upon arrival in the Philippines.
They "Acquired" a motor by barter from the Marines, which was mounted forward, they added extra 50 cal machine guns,
they removed the forward torpedoes, they eventually added a set of rocket launchers at the stern, etc.

The Crew of PT 492
