This is an outstanding paper on the original studies of aspartame by Dr. Erik Millstone who is a scientist in England who has been researching aspartame since the beginning, and exposing it. He dissects the original studies. It makes me think of the testimony of Jana Marie who wrote about her experience of the cover-up. She is a para-legal and her father a physician. She understood the studies and wrote about the lab results from the tested rats and other animals. She said: "The results were outrageous. This stuff killed everything it touched." She had been hired to send copies of the original studies to France and then shred them. His other study is on aspartame and autism. This is an extensive 22 page article. It discusses the incredible Ramazzini Studies by Dr. Morando Soffritti showing aspartame to be a multipotential carcinogen. Even Harvard did a study confirming these same cancers.Over and over studies that are independent and unbiased have shown the alarming problems like the Trocho Study by Dr. M. Alemany showing the formaldehyde embalms living tissue and damages DNA. Aspartame studies have shown everything from strokes and myocardial infarctions to raising fasting blood sugar and the depletion of neural transmitters. Neurological symptoms, including learning and memory processes, may be related to the high or toxic concentrations of the sweetener [aspartame] metabolites," states a 2006 study in Pharmacological Research . As Dr. Walton's paper points out only industry controlled and financed studies defending their toxin ever said it was safe. So heres the point: 40 years of independent studies have shown how harmful and dangerous aspartame is. It is the epitome of an extremely toxic and carcinogenic drug masquerading as an additive. Dr. Roberts in his medical text, page 769 and 770, said Senator William Proxmire charged the then FDA Commissioner with "misfeasance in office by allowing a potentially brain damaging sweetener to be manufactured and sold even before a hearing into its dangers is held."
