About Michel Zirger | |
Michel Zirger (b. Saint-Germain-en-Laye, France) is a French researcher and writer specializing in the life of the anthropologist and "contactee," George Hunt Williamson. For approximately twenty years he has dedicated most of his time to make this pivotal, but highly enigmatic, figure in Ufology better understood and known. A nephew of the great French-American luthier, René A. Morel (d. 2011), he studied music at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris, then attended the Sorbonne University (M.A.; Master's thesis in linguistics on Jules Verne and a seminar paper on Arthur C. Clarke). He has been living in Japan more than twenty years. Michel is known in Japanese ufological circles for his contributions to diverse publications dealing with UFOs, for example, the famous large-circulation monthly magazine, Super Mystery Magazine MU. He possesses numerous exclusive documents on Williamson and a part of his personal archives, in particular the original manuscripts (ribbon copies) of Other Tongues-Other Flesh, Secret Places of the Lion and Road in the Sky. In 2000, he published in the French UFO magazine, Lumières dans la Nuit, a seminal article, the first of its kind in French, entitled simply "George Hunt Williamson revisited." This article, which threw a totally new light on Williamson, triggered a renewed interest for this pioneer of extraterrestrial contacts and opened the way to other researchers.... His interest in UFOs began really at the age of 13, when his mother told him that she had observed – at close range – in 1964 in Le Pecq near Paris an impressive "flying saucer" of the classic type, emitting long beams of light from its circumference ... "The object was now hovering in front of her. It was a very large object 'as big as two houses side by side floating in the sky.' The object was hovering noiselessly, 'as if it were on an air cushion.' But what impressed my mother most were the beams of light emanating from the object. About ten beams of strange light were emerging from the base, or from the rim of the object. Each one of them was moving up and down. These beams of light were orange in color, yet with some tones of red and yellow. The craft itself was 'like two inverted saucers, or plates, one atop the other,' dark metallic in color with a large dome, or cupola, on top. Just above the rim was a row of perfectly square windows, which were lit from the inside by a bright yellow light. Enveloping, encompassing the whole craft was a large halo or aura of surreal, supernatural whitish color." Michel Zirger often likes highlighting the fact that if this "flying saucer" had not come hovering within a hundred meters from his mother on a hot night of July 1964, he himself would not be now in Tokyo, writing on George Hunt Williamson and extraterrestrials ... That sighting was to decide on the course of his life ... Although he has specialized in research about the "UFO contactees," his approach is nevertheless pragmatic and the most Cartesian possible, his golden rule being precision as far as possible. This allows him, when necessary, to develop certain aspects through a more esoteric, even mystic, viewpoint but always with a solid foundation and the reasoned approach that characterizes French ufology. In 2016 he published the first comprehensive biography of George Hunt Williamson, Mystical Journey–The Incredible Life of George Hunt Williamson (Verdechiaro edition), a world premiere and an astounding achievement, recognized by indisputable specialists of the genre such as Timothy Green Beckley, Tony Brunt, as well as reviewer Ruth Parnell of NEXUS Magazine.
