Seven Years Of Silence

By Jim Kirwan

The terms of the conditions involved in the Iraqi military attack upon Forward Base Falcon in October of 2006, presents Americans with a massive injustice on every front. To grasp this, we need to remember

several things that we have publicly refused to know anything about.

The first crime was the fact that American troops were serving in a situation that was not militarily protected sufficiently, which was unnecessary. The slaughter of over 300 on the first day of that attack need never have happened if the U.S. had guarded the tens of hundreds of Iraqi military stockpiles that were made possible because we didn’t guard the Iraqi ammo dumps throughout Iraq. Literally hundreds of thousands of artillery shells and Iraqi weapons were available to use to build IED’s and to be used against places like Falcon Forward Base. That happened because millions of weapons lay unguarded by order of L. Paul Bremmer who was “in-charge” of military security in Iraq. To him this was just a personnel problem.

Bremmer is and was a criminal-war-profiteer, who knew absolutely nothing about the military or war in any meaningful way: For Bremmer, Bush, Rummy and Cheney Iraq was just about getting fabulously rich. They could not be collectively or individually bothered about doing anything that would make Iraq a more secure-victory, after 3 years of war when the major battles ended. Consequently the weaponry that was used to destroy Forward Base Falcon was actually made possible by the Criminal-US Military administration in Iraq. None of this was ever raised or justified to the public here. Instead everything was buried in CLASSIFIED National-Security-Archives that were designed to never see the light of day. Imagine what would have happened if 911 and that attack had been this tightly buried?

Hundreds died on October 10, 2006 yet the Pentagon at first denied that anyone had even died. Here is the BBC report of October 11, 2006

The US military has said that a huge fire at an army base's ammunitions store in the Iraqi capital was caused by a mortar fired by insurgents.

The fire, which set off a series of blasts and explosions at the base, caused no casualties or injuries.

The BBC's Andrew North, in Baghdad, said the explosions started at about 2300 (2100 BST) on Tuesday night.

Blasts from the base, in the city's south, were heard for miles. The fire continued to burn through the night.

"Intelligence indicates that civilians aligned with a militia organization were responsible for last night's mortar attack," Base spokesman Lt Col Jonathan Withington said.

Earlier, an insurgent group had posted a statement on the internet, claiming responsibility for the attack.

The US military spokesman said that all troops and workers on the base had been safely evacuated to bomb shelters to protect them from the blasts.

He said no-one had been injured in the explosions.

The Iraqi Interior Ministry said the blasts had shaken three neighborhoods close to the base in the southern district of Doura.” (1)

Another Disastrous Coverup Forward Base Falcon Disaster

The cover up of Over 300 American troops, including U.S. Army and Marines, CIA agents and U.S. translators were casualties and there also were 165 seriously injured requiring major medical attention and 39 suffering lesser injuries 122 members of the Iraqi armed forces were killed and 90 seriously injured members of same, were also evacuated to the U.S. military hospital…

Late on the evening of October 10, 2006, Iraqi resistance groups

Lobbed mortar and rocket rounds into the immense 'Forward Base Falcon,' the largest American military base in Iraq, located 13 km south of the Green Zone in Baghdad. In addition to accurate mortar fire, Grad and Katyusha rockets were also used.

Falcon base was designed to house a large contingent of American troops, mostly drawn from the 4th Infantry Division, stationed at Ft. Bliss, Texas. At the time of the attack, there were approximately 3000 men inside the camp, which also was filled with ammunition supplies, fuel, tanks and vehicles.

Iraqi contractors had assisted in the construction of the camp, which occupied nearly a square mile and was surrounded with guard tower-studded high concrete walls, and it is now apparent that the Resistance movement had been given important targets from "sources familiar with the layout" of the base.

After the initial shelling, fuel and ammunition stores began to erupt with massive explosions that could be heard, and seen, miles away inside the Green Zone where U.S. military and diplomatic units were heavily guarded.

The explosions, all of them termed "immense" by BBC reporters, continued throughout the night. In response, US aircraft indiscriminately rocketed and bombed various parts of the city, BBC and AFP correspondents reported, trying to knock out the launch sites of the rockets. The BBC's Andrew North, in Baghdad, said the explosions started at about 2300 (2100 BST) and were becoming "ever more frequent" as the huge fires spread throughout the base, punctuated by tremendous explosions as more fuel and ammunition dumps ignited.

"Intelligence indicates that civilians aligned with a militia organization were responsible for last night's mortar attack," said Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Withington, spokesman for the U.S. 4th Infantry Division.

An after action report, issued by the Department of Defense, stated that: "On October 10, 2006, at approximately 10:40 p.m., a 82mm mortar round, fired by militia forces from a residential area in Abu T-Shir, caused a fire at an Ammunition Supply Point (ASP) at FOB Falcon. The ASP, containing tank and artillery rounds, in addition to smaller caliber ammunition, set off a series of large explosions. About 100 troops from the 4th Infantry Division were reported to be stationed at the base at the time, but no injuries were reported." (Emphasis added.) "The damage to the area will not degrade the operational capability of MND-B (Multinational Division Baghdad),"

When the flames had been brought under control on the morning of the11th of October, primarily because the entire camp had been gutted, nine large American military transports with prominent Red Cross markings were observed by members of the foreign media taking off, laded with the dead and the wounded. Over 300 American troops, including U.S. Army and Marines, CIA agents and U.S. translators were casualties and there also were 165 seriously injured requiring major medical attention and 39 suffering lesser injuries 122 members of the Iraqi armed forces were killed and 90 seriously injured members of same, were also evacuated to the U.S. military hospital at al-Habbaniyah located some 70km west of Baghdad

.

Satellite pictures and aerial photographs from neutral sources showed That Camp Falcon suffered major structural damage and almost all the U.S. military's supply of small arms ammunition, artillery and rocket rounds, tons of fuel, six Apache helicopters, an uncounted but large number of soft-skinned vehicles such as Humvees and supply trucks were damaged or totally destroyed. Foreign press observers noted "an endless parade" of military vehicle recovery units dragging burnt-out heavy tanks and armored personnel carriers to another base outside Baghdad.

Many of the walls and towers of the camp were damaged or leveled as Were many of the barracks, maintenance depots, and there was considerable damage to the huge mess halls that could hold 3000 soldiers, the huge recreation center with its basketball courts and indoor swimming pools and all the administration buildings.

Although official U.S. DoD statements indicated that there were no Deaths that only a hundred men were inside the base guarding billions of dollars of vital military equipment and that there were "only two minor injuries to personnel," passes belief and certainly reality is more painful than propaganda.

Not only has the U.S. military machine lost much of its armor and transport, and its entire reserves of ammunition and special fuel, but the casualty list for only the first day is over 300.

Here is a transcription of that list who were evacuated to other

Hospital units: kirwan: The second part of his report will be the full list of the dead in the next article…

In re: Insurgent attacks on Forward Base Falcon on 10-11 October, 2006 Official Casualty List from U.S. military hospital at al-Habbaniyah Located some 70km west of Baghdad. U.S. medical personnel at al-Habbaniyah initially stated that the US military hospital at the massive American-occupied air base there had begun to receive dead and wounded personnel. The military hospital in al-Habbaniyah, the largest in occupied Iraq, was opened on 12 May this year in response to sharply rising (and redacted) US casualties.” (2)

Anyone related to anyone that died in Iraq in the week beginning on October 10, 2006 who wants to take the government to task for what was done to their loved ones: Might want to let people know that you exist!

Contact those who print the story or those writing about this. These 7 year-victims of this massive-crime might be able to get together and end the careers of those that caused these deaths to happen—unlike what the families of 911victims were subjected to and who got no results at all.

I remember what the U.S. did to Fallujah, as payback for 4 private security contractors who were murdered by Iraqi’s. The four Americans were Blackwater contractors, who were burned alive in their vehicle then strung up above a bridge - to show the world what Iraqi’s thought about the actions of mercenaries. The U.S. eventually attacked Fallujah with heavy DU weapons and phosphorus slaughtering over 700 civilians as payback for the deaths of the 4 contractors. I am not advocating that kind of reprisal.

But what if the families that lost their loved ones in this attack were to do what the families of 911 failed to do? What if the families of the dead in Falcon Forward Base succeeded in holding the criminal US Government, and in particular Bremmer, Rumsfeld, Cheney, Bush and the officers who were responsible for allowing this to happen - to literally account for these unnecessary deaths of US personnel?

Just a thought. War-Crimes must be paid for by those that are RESPONSIBLE for what happens in the war torn hells that these outlaws have created. In this case there was never any reason to have attacked Iraq at all, no weapons of mass destruction, just criminal government policies that were driven by Zionist Israel. That’s how we came to call the beginning of the attack on Iraq “Shock & Awe”.
