African researchers, writes that more than half of all the new TB cases
now are co-infected with AIDS and dying within months of Extremely-drug-
resistant Tuberculosis (XDR-TB)
- The deadly co-infection of TB+AIDS has rapidly spread
from just one small hospital in KwaZulu-Natal province in South Africa
where it started killing hundreds of patients from October 2006. Local
health systems throughout Southern Africa are unable to contain the twin
killer-epidemic, the UK broadcaster reports.
