It was a beautiful summer evening. I was in the family room of my parent's house, staring out of a large picture window. Sliding windows on both sides of the large center window were fully opened. I was relaxing by quietly enjoying the music of frogs and crickets on a warm, clear night. Suddenly, a huge, low-flying, circular object broke from the treeline on the other side of the neighborhood and in the direction that I was looking. The object slowly glided towards and over my parent's house. I lost sight of it as it crossed the roofline above my head. I ran outside but could no longer see the object because of another treeline directly behind my parent's house. I never heard any sound coming from the object. The object was very dark, except for a string of small lights around the outer edge that rotated through a clockwise pattern. I really cannot estimate how large the object was, other to say that it enveloped the entire section of sky above and in front of my parent's house. Even if the object was immediately above the treetops, it would have had to have been at least about 150 to 200 feet across. I never bothered telling anyone about it, because I was certain they would not believe me. Thank you to the witness for the interesting report. ------
I was at my parent's house for a family get-together. My parents, my father's grandparents, my two brothers, and myself decided to go for a late evening walk around the neighborhood. It was a warm, very clear night. During our walk, my brothers and I noticed a helicopter about one thousand feet above the large cornfield adjacent to our neighborhood. Living in a rural area, it was unusual to see low flying helicopters. We proceeded to stop and stare at the helicopter for awhile. After about 30 seconds or so, we realized the helicopter was chasing a small, bright light around the sky. The small light would sometimes dance near and around the helicopter. Other times, the small light would very quickly dart away from the helicopter, come to an immediate stop in the sky, and remained fixed there until the helicopter flew over to it. It was reasonably obvious that the small light was a real object, since light appeared to be radiating spherically from it. After the scenario had played itself out for about three to five minutes, the small light suddenly erupted into a large, bright light about the size of the helicopter and disappeared. Shortly afterwards, the helicopter left. During the entire event, we could only hear the sounds of the helicopter. Immediately after the event, we briefly spoke to each other about it but have never discussed it since. Thank you to the witness for their report. ------
Shape of objects: A vertical, bright white light beam and very close. Full Description of event/sighting: That early Winter, I and my long time friend were bored and decided to go out to a farmer's potato field he knew of and to look for wild marijuana. We were sober and wide awake. We had another friend drive my car out to drop us off and wait for us. We exited the car about 8 miles outside of LaPorte, Indiana. There had been a snowfall of around 4 inches and the cold, bitter wind had hardened the snow. It crunched as we ran, and stumbled across the frozen and clumpy soil. My friend stopped us at a spot where there was a small rise or hill and we switched on our flashlights to search the ground area. The farmer's farmhouse was far away in the distance but we still used our flashlights sparingly and close to the ground. After about 15 minutes, our fingers were getting cold and the wind became stronger. My friend ran over to me and said we should give up and leave. We were freezing (we only wore jean jackets) so we turned and started running back toward our friend and the car. We ran into something at knee height and switched our flashlights on. It was a shocker to see 2 small deer staring up at us. They looked at us and then back toward where we ran from. What we saw, filled us with fear. As we heard the small deer run off over the crusty snow, we saw a beam of white light 150 feet from us, at the small rise in the field. It was a very bright, white beam of light. It was perfectly round where it shone on the ground. We could see weeds and grasses in the beam. I looked up and stammered, " (friends name), what do you see?" He replied, "I see a light beam but nothing at the top!" He was right, the beam was about 80 feet high but there was no helicopter or hovering craft visible. The beam did not waver or move. It was rock steady. We then panicked and ran back to the car without stopping. I now believe in lone beams of night lights. I hope someone else has seen this kind of light beam, seemingly, out of no where. Thank You. HBCC UFO Research would like to ask anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the sighting of the beam of light to please contact me at HBCC UFO Research. Also I have had a few other reports similar to this, I do find these fascinating. Thank you to the witness for the report. --------
I'm writing in regards to an article I read a few hours ago about about those girls and some other lady and their experiences here in Kelowna a few years ago. While I can't say that I believe in their stories or any other abduction stories, and I do have rather skeptical opinions on whether or not we are even being visited, there was something to the stories that raised the hair on the back of my neck in a way that hasn't happened for years. I figured it wouldn't hurt to write you about the green light I saw quite a few years back in this same town and, from what I just read, in the same area. (not to mention I just can't sleep now that my mind is too busy thinking about it all). I had moved here (Kelowna) around '97 (it's been awhile, I just can't remember the exact dates) because I landed a job with one of the security companies here before I even finished my security training. One of the first assignments I had gotten from them was to patrol on foot, at the golf course that's located along Glenmore. They wanted security at night to keep the late nighters from walking on the new grass (the course had new grass due to the expansion and the new expansion I was told, was a great short-cut to the highway and alot of teens were using it at night). It was an easy, but boring and eventless job so most of the time I just spent hours watching for shooting stars and strolling around. One night, I was patrolling in the direction facing Rutland, maybe even East Kelowna, and I saw a green light dropping down over what I was pretty sure was Rutland. I know memory makes for a bad witness, but a green-light meteor is not something I can forget. I remember being excited because I've seen shooting stars almost any night I look up long enough, but I've never seen one that looked as though it made it through the atmosphere and headed straight for the ground. I also remember the sick feeling I got because it stayed lit the whole time and looked like it hit Rutland. The reason it bothered me is because I had moved my family into Rutland, and for a meteor to hold it's light all the way til impact, I figured it would have to have some size to it. Then, after awhile of standing there staring for awhile and still kind of shocked at what I saw, I relaxed realising that if the meteor had any size to it like I was worrying about, I would have heard or felt or seen an impact. So I laughed and went back to being excited about the sight and waited to see if anyone on the radio was going to start talking about it. I was new on the job and didn't want to look bad by bringing up useless chatter on the radio about meteors and the such. Nothing. Not one word. One of security car patrollers stopped by to check on things and I talked about it with him. He thought it would have been cool to see (after making a few jokes about thinking I'm drinking on the job) but reported that he saw nothing like that. I couldn't believe it. I mean, it didn't light the sky up or anything, but it was not something you would miss if you were looking in that direction. It happened late, like around 1-3 am or there abouts, and it was middle of Spring, but Kelowna wasn't all asleep around that time so I figured it would at least make the news or the paper for sure. I got home around 7:00 am and sat in front of the TV to see if there would be a big deal about it on the news. My fiance at the time had woken up due to the noise I was making coming home and I told her about it. So we sat and watched the local channel til we fell asleep. Nothing. For a week I watched the local news and eyeballed the local paper for any report on it and nothing. It bugged me for some time that there was no report on it because I really thought it was a big deal. I mean, this is an area that will report in the news how many kittens Mrs. So-So's cat had the other night, so I thought for sure a larger green meteor would have made the news. For years I haven't really given it further thought, was just one of those rare lucky meteor sightings that I'd smile about whenever I'm looking up at the stars or reading about planets and space etc. Now, after reading your article, I'm thinking about it again, and I don't know what to think. It was green, unmistakingly green, didn't flash or trail any other color, it looked like it stayed green all the way down to the earth ( which is still blowing my mind that it happens to be the same area that those girls in your article reported seeing it) and now I'm remembering it not being so fast as I was able to say 'Holy Crap!' before it was gone or hit ground. Kind of like a fast falling flare I guess. Fast enough to have a bit of a tail, but not fast like a meteor streaking the sky. The Spring season being in common is also pretty flukey as well. Like I said, I find it hard to buy the other stories, but the area and being green have me believing they indeed saw something. But im also having a problem now trying to fathom green meteors being a semi-common occurence here in Kelowna. Make of this what you will, take it or leave it. I had not experienced time loss, seen it move in any other direction other then down (albeit a bit slow), and didn't walk away from the sighting the worse for wear, but I would really appreciate it if you would write me back to tell me if anyone else has reported to you the wild sight around the same time. It was just too surreal and fantastic for only me to have seen. Sorry for the long letter, and good luck in your research. Thank you to the witness for the report. --------
My wife and I were traveling from Smithers to Houston. I think around 99-2000 (she will remember). Anyways on the way up Hungry Hill we saw a what appeared to be a very large craft, but with very, very dim lights glowing from underneath. We watched it for a long time as we climbed Hungry Hill, we both agreed it could not be a plane. I remarked to my wife jokingly that the lights on the craft were so dim and he should hit his high beams. Well just them the lights (can't remember how many) got super, super bright, the craft sped off. There were a lot of cars of the highway that night. Thank you to the witness for their report. ------
Full Description of event/sighting: I was driving my mini van with my daughter (16), her friend(16), and 2 ! year old babies. Crossed intersection of Brock and #5. Looked up all 3 of us saw a low flying (low as hydro tower) motionless, v- shaped formation with many, many lights around perimeter of underside of craft. My daughter wanted to stop but I said no way. since I was driving I took my eyes off craft for one moment. When I looked back again no sign of anything. I have not seen anything since nor did I see anything similar before. Thank you to the witness for their report. -------
Hi My name is (name removed) and I live in Terrace, British Columbia. I seen your clip in our weekend paper and thought I would like to tell you my experience. I sit outside to have a cigarette and on the evening of March 8, 2002. I saw the most usual circle of lights. At first it was really bright and as time passed which was about 5-6 minutes the lights began to fade further in the sky and these lights were not of a plane, as I see many planes fly overhead as we only live 10 minutes from the airport. It was the most strange set of lights I have every seen. This took place in the evening as it was very dark. I would have to say it was between 9:00 p.m. and 10:30. I'm not positive of the time, now I'm always looking up at the sky because if it is what I saw I'm sure it will return. If and when it does, I plan on recording the time on my calendar. I have always believed there really are UFOs, but this is the first time I have seen what I believe to be a UFO. Well I'm signing of for now and I will keep in touch if I see anymore bright lights Thank you to the witness for their report. --------
About 15 minutes ago I stepped outside and noticed a bright light coming from an area on the north/west slope of Haleakala, not quite at the top. Then a second light appeared just to the right of it, then the first light faded out. For a moment I thought I was watching aircraft moving in and out of clouds. But soon a very bright orangish light appeared high in the sky, clearly over the mountain, much brighter than any aircraft light from that distance, then blinked out. That got my attention. As I watched, more lights appeared now at various elevations, some in front of the mountain face, some above. Some moved quickly like shooting stars, some kept a steady trajectory and moved slower. They all seemed headed to the same place, the location of the original light on the volcano. As many as seven lights of various intensities were in the sky at once within my field of vision, which was limited by houses and trees in the neighborhood. I could see about a 30% of the sky in that direction. Most of them would usually be visible for less than a minute. The brighter orangish ones would blink out instantly, the smaller whitish ones would fade out slower. After about 5 minutes, the quadrant of the sky over and in front of the mountain seemed to brighten suddenly, like stadium lights had been turned on and were reflecting off of clouds, although the sky that I could see was clear. I thought this would diminish my ability to see, but the lights were still very visible. I went in and got my binoculars for a closer look. I could now tell they were definitely not headlights or airplane lights or something coming from a fixed location on the mountain, like the known "science city' facility on the top, which is not in my field of vision from my location on the shore. In fact, over the past couple of months, I have noticed a bare spot in the very area that this activity was taking place that has some reflective dome structure. The other day as I drove up the mountain, that area was covered with a huge white oval. This was very odd considering the mountainside there is rugged and steep slopes, but this was a perfectly round, smooth oval shape, probably the size of three football fields just sitting there. For the past two weeks, I have been house-sitting at another location where I could not see the volcano, so I hadn't been able to monitor any further activity. Back to the sightingat one point, a very strong bright organish light appeared high above the area at or near the top of the mountain where I had noticed the other lights seemed to be heading to. Then a light came on below it off to the right, at what seemed to be this mystery location near the top of the mountain. Then another bright, steady light appeared from the left and moved across the top along the ridge of the mountain. When it reached a position where it made a perfect triangle with the light above and the light on the mountain, it blinked out, but the other two remained steady. Then it reappeared, at the same altitude but much closer to the light on the mountain. It slowly moved to the left till it merged with the light on the mountain. Then all three went out. I watched for a few more minutes, only seeing one bright flash to the left, then nothing else. I came in and wrote out this report while it was fresh in my mind.
I stepped back out 15 minutes later, and clouds have obscured my view of the mountain. HBCC UFO Research Note: If anyone has witnessed the orange lights reported in this area, or knows what this reflective dome might be, would you please contact Brian at HBCC UFO Research. -------
I was in Carrboro, North Carolina at the exit ramp of Hwy 40 and hwy 86. I was casually picking a real estate sign and looking at the clear sky. Suddenly I saw something moving at what looked like the speed of a military jet. But after it traveling about 3 inches from my view it stopped in mid air. I continued to watch it and it did not fade. Instead it changed directions and started moving vertically, back and forth as though oscillating. It then started to make odd movements, hooked shaped movements with sudden stops. Then forward movements darting the erratic movements before it went further to the right. I tried to call several friends to see. One of the first came out of her house in Durham, NC. I told her to look up and to the left of those three bright stars, almost in a vertical straight line. I told her to watch that star sitting alone by itself. After a few seconds I asked her to tell me what she was seeing, she said the star is moving up and down. This sighting lasted around 30 minutes before it continued to my right which I think was east and gradually faded. My friend got frightened and went back into her house. I could not tell any shape. It just looked like a star (dot) in the sky. It was clearly visible, but not the brightest object in the sky. In fact it passed just below the brightest object from my perspective. I have never seen anything move as erratically not change flying directions immediately, no wide turns or anything. Just go to one way and immediately retrace it's direction back. Then back and forth then move forward a little more make different motions and hook like motions and then move across the sky and start bouncing (oscillating movement) again until it went off to the east and faded. and not in its original direction, about 60 degrees to the left. I do not know what it was but I have never seen anything move like it. Thank you to the witness for the interesting report. ------
