Full Description of event/sighting: To whom it may concern, I have had three UFO sightings in my life, all of them being daylight sightings. One when I was around eight years old, another when I was around 35 years old, but the one that I will describe is by far the very best. At the age of 26, I am now 50 years old.
It's been a long time since I made this sighting, but have visited the site approximately every other year to keep it fresh in my memory. The sighting occurred in the summer (July?) of 1982, in Dayton, Ohio within an approximate radius of four miles from Wright Patterson AFB.
I had just pulled up to a local watering hole after work (Filthy McNasty's was the name of the establishment, believe it or not) with my best friend who I worked/carpooled with. I am a tool design engineer and he is a tool and die maker. From our work experience, we both are very well trained in regards to knowing the size of things big and small.
Filthys is located approximately 300 yards from the great Miami River and about 100 yards from Rip Rap Road which parallels the river and lies between itself and the river. It basically sits in the middle of an abandoned field, surrounded by flat farm fields and woods. The time was approximately 6:00 p.m., the weather was good, with a clear blue sky, with little or no wind. A typical, hot, humid, stagnant, miserable summer day in Ohio. (Can you tell how much I like the weather in Ohio)? As I was saying, we had just pulled up in the parking lot with the car facing west. We got out and started walking north for about 100 feet to the entrance, when something (a movement/reflection?) to our left (south) caught both of out eyes at the same time. At a distance of 100 yards (I have measured this) and at approximate height of 200 feet (we had trees in the foreground very close to the road that I have measured the height of, by comparing the objects height to the height of the trees which I feel confident of the height estimate) was a dull gray metallic round object. It almost looked like something out of a 1950's bad Sci-Fi movie. Two pie pans stacked facing each other with a streamlined "dome" on the top side only. The object was directly over the road and following it's course north at a speed of approximately 35 miles an hour. I have also measured this with myself standing in the exact spot and my friend driving the car on the road (and vice versa) at various speeds. We both picked the speed of 35 MPH.
The object was approximately 35 to 40 feet in diameter, I was a draftsman at the time, and had several size/angles of ellipse templates at work. So the following morning we stood at a distance of three feet from a wall which I had taped all of these templates to. With the object of this being to pick out what we thought the object looked like. Not only the size, but the projected angle (share/profile). We both did this by ourselves, without knowing what size or shape the other had picked. To my surprise we both picked the same shape, and more to my surprise, we were within approximately 10% of picking the same size. By using a little trigonometry and knowing a few measurements I calculated the size. So unless I am fundamentally wrong with how I did my calculations, I am very confident of the size that I estimate. We also parked a Ford F-100 pickup out on the road and both of us stood in the "spot" and compared the size of the truck on the ground with the size of the object in the air. We both agreed that the object looked between two and three times the length of the truck, and so knowing the length of the truck, it fit really well with my calculations.
After we first spotted the object, it continued going north, at the same speed, following the path of the road. There were no erratic moments, no change in altitude, or any increase/decrease in speed. We both watched it for approximately 3 to 4 minutes until it was lost to sight in the haze a little above the horizon. After the object was lost to sight we went inside and discussed what we saw over a few cold beers. What strikes me as odd, is that we didn't talk that much about it that night or after that. Maybe we were/are still dumbfounded by what we saw. This is not an exaggeration, if I saw a pickup truck at that height and distance, I wouldn't be able to tell you it's license plate number, but I damn sure could tell you what color, make and model it was.
There is one other thing that we both thought was very strange. There is a beach volleyball court in front of Filthy's and know more than 75 yards from the road. I would guess that there were between 15 and 20 people playing at the time. The net runs north and south, so half the people were facing east and the other half were facing west, and would have had an even closer view of the object than we did. I can see the half facing east missing it all together, but Ill be damned if I can figure out why no one player facing west spotted it.
We were both watching them for some reaction but there was not so much as a word said. We both were so dumbstruck that we just stood there with our jaws hanging on the ground and didn't raise the alarm to anyone. In fact we didn't say anything at all to each other the whole time except at the very beginning when I said, "What the hell is that ! To the best of my knowledge, all info contained in this statement is accurate and true. I know a fair amount about UFOs and the quality of the sighting/people. So I have to tell you, this was a sweet one. No mysterious lights at night, and some moron wearing an Indian headdress claiming that he was whisked away to Venus (Maybe you've seen the film clips of this guy).
You have a multiple witness sighting, well trained, credible professionals.
You have a distance of no more than 125 yards away, with perfect viewing conditions.
I wouldn't have even reported this, except for the fact that it's been nagging at me for almost 25 years now. Maybe it will help me get rid of some of the nag. Plus, I like reading about sightings, so maybe someone will find this interesting and enjoyable.
In 1984, about May, I had a very bizarre night-time experience that involved a blazing, extremely bright white ball of light that made hissing, electrical sounds. At this time I was living alone in a ground level apartment in a 5-plex unit. I abruptly woke up sometime in the early AM. As I sat up in my bed I could see an unusually bright light glowing through my bedroom window. My first thought was that the apartment building was on fire! I shot out of bed and tried the light switches, but the electricity in my unit was off. I checked the electrical panel in my bedroom closet and everything was 'on' but still there was no power. After quickly jumping into some pants, I raced outside expecting to see the other residents of the building outside, equally as alarmed as I was. Nobody else was outside, and I couldn't see any indication of a fire in our building. But in the neighbor's yard there was a ball of intensely bright, white light right next to the outer wall of the house. About 5 to 6 feet in diameter, it made loud crackling noises. I had to peer over the fence to see it, and was amazed that the house wasn't on fire because of what was apparently a severe electrical malfunction of some kind. The brightness of this white ball of light was enough to light up the entire backyard of the neighbor's house and shine light over to my residence. I stood barefooted, mesmerized by this incredibly bright ball of light, trying to make some kind of sense out of it. At some point, I inexplicably seem to have lost interest in this matter and went back to my apartment and went back to sleep. The next morning, I woke up and immediately went outside to check for fire damage. There was none! The electrical power was back on and the strange events of the previous night had no demonstrable effect - other than in my memory. I walked around the parking lot of our building and looked down to the blackberry and weed infested edge of the lot. Weirdly, I mentally pictured a rusted out wreck of an old car that was abandoned in this area. But this was crazy, there wasn't any such thing in evidence. But I couldn't shake off the impression that a car had somehow ended up in this corner of the property. A little time after this experience, the weeping willow tree on the neighbor's lot near the blazing, crackling white ball of light began to die. A few months later it was cut down.
Full Description of event/sighting: Brian, Hello! The description of this event is in response to the person from Los Angeles who reported a blazing sphere of energy outside their home back in 1971. I wanted to say that I had something happen to me when I was also 14 years old that was eerily similar to what this person described. I had always thought that what happened was a dream - or possibly a waking nightmare. I suppose I still do, but when I read this person's account, I broke out in Goosebumps because what was described was almost exactly what I dreamed of ten years later. Before I begin, I should note that I very seldom remember my dreams, maybe a for an hour or two at best, but never for more than a day - and certainly not for weeks, months or years. However, this particular dream I had I have never forgotten and still remember like it happened yesterday. This happened in Iowa and was around 1985 or so. I remember because it was before I moved my bedroom to the basement, so I was approximately 14 years old. We lived in one of the older houses in town and my bedroom was directly across the hall from my parents bedroom on the second floor. I'm guessing at the time, but I know it was quite late, after midnight I'm sure - because my parents, who usually went to bed around 11:00 p.m. were sound asleep. In my dream, I am laying in bed asleep when I am awakened by an intense blue-white glow that is just as the other person described: like an arc-welder. My bed was pretty standard size, so laying down my head was probably three feet or so above the floor. This glowing thing hovered at eye level, perfectly still, and my first thought was: "Oh, I left the TV on," since it looked like a small, 12-inch black and white TV tuned into 'snow' (that is, not tuned to any channel). This thought was immediately followed by: "Wait, I don't have a television in my room!" Which was true, my family only had one TV in the whole house, and that is still true today. This weird glowing sphere was about three feet away from me as I lay in my bed. I felt compelled to look at it, and, in fact, felt like I was frozen as stiff as a board. After reading up on this years later, I would later determine that this could be a waking nightmare, or night terror, where you feel like you're unable to move. Anyway, this thing hissed loudly, just as the other person described, accept as I watched this thing. I noticed that it began to pulsate, with the hissing sound growing louder (it kind of sounded like a 'lightsaber' from Star Wars when it did this) each time it brightened. The glare from this thing kept getting brighter and brighter, and the sound louder, until it finally seemed to explode with a loud bang and filling my whole bedroom with a bright blue light. I immediately jumped out of bed and raced across the hall to my parents bedroom, throwing open the door and shaking my mom awake. I was in tears, nearly hysterical, as I screamed 'get out! get out! The house is on fire!' Curiously, my mom did nothing except roll over and tell me to go back asleep, that I was only dreaming (this is a mother of six who would wake at the slightest sound) and who's house (the same one this happened in) nearly burned down several years before. It never occurred to me how odd this reaction was until I typed this. I did go back to bed, but I recall being covered in sweat and my heart racing. I stayed up until dawn, too afraid to go back to sleep, and I remember having trouble sleeping for several nights after this dream as well. Looking back, I'm still not convinced this was anything other than an intensely vivid dream, or night terror, or whatever. It could have even been 'ball lightning' I suppose. However, the similarities to what the other person described seemed like they had read my mind. I have previously reported a sighting this past summer (2006) that also happened in Iowa, but I do not feel that these two events are related in any way. Thank you.
Full Description of event/sighting: My partner Steve and I rented a cottage for the weekend in Glyn Ciriog, N. Wales. We went with his sister and uncle, his nephew and my son. We'd been out walking for the day, got back to the cottage and had some food. I had gone upstairs to unpack and have a wash etc... I heard Steve calling my name so I went outside to investigate. He told me to look in the distance because he could see some lights in the clouds. It was a very overcast night, it had been raining for most of the day. At first I could see nothing, I had to really concentrate to see anything at all. Then I spotted a flickering in the clouds very far away, it was so small. My initial thought was that it was lightening until I realized that the flashing followed a uniformed pattern. We shouted for the others to come outside and look. They came out and we stood there watching the regular pattern of lights which seemed to be moving nearer to our position and was traveling in a zig zag fashion. After a while the lights started to move towards us a bit faster. I still think to this day that "it" noticed us. It came to be right in front of us over a field then it changed it's position to be right above our heads at about 200 feet max. We were all whooping and hollering. I can tell you that we felt no threat which still bothers me. It was above us for maybe ten or fifteen minutes when something caught my attention and I looked behind me. I saw a mist on the ground in front of some trees which was glowing a grey white light which gave the appearance of a smaller spherical craft which pulsed every two seconds. I drew the others attention to it, they looked and said "Oh yes" and we all promptly forgot about it and continued to look up at the disc shaped craft above our heads. This one had a centre circle of light with an outer ring of light but lines of light were coming from the centre to the outer ring and they were rotating. We could not see the craft itself because it was inside the clouds but very low to us as we were on top of a hill. It reminded me of the underside of a mushroom and at times looked like a neon jelly fish as the light moved through the different densities of the clouds. My son who was five at the time became very scared. We had told the children that it was nothing to worry about because it was lights from a farmers tractor reflecting off the underside of the clouds. After a while as it came to be above us, this reason didn't wash with them. He tugged on my jumper and told me that a hand had come through the hedge in front of us and touched his foot. It didn't occur to us that these crafts might have had occupants. We all went inside the house to take the children back in. The two other adults went straight into the living room and started watching television and Steve began to either wash up or dry the dishes, I cannot recall which. I looked at everyone is total disbelief. You would think we had just been watching a few fireworks and that the show was over but these things were still outside. To this day I have no idea what possessed me but I stomped back outside and continued to watch the craft from below it on my own. No one tried to stop me and I had forgotten about the craft on the ground and the hand immediately. I stood underneath it watching it until I heard footsteps running behind me. I have no idea if this was anything other than an animal but it scared the hell out of me because it brushed past my back and dragged my jumper. At this point I ran for my life. I did not look back so I have no idea what it was, it could have been a sheep but I don't believe it was because a sheep would probably only reach my backside and not above my waist. I ran into the house and was very, very frightened. I told Steve what had happened and he calmly looked at the clock and said "well you weren't out there long so you haven't any missing time". Looking back that was a very strange statement to make. I made him lock the doors and close the curtains. We put the children to bed and I sat in the middle of the bed totally petrified. I was having a panic attack. Steve did his best to calm me down but I would not be left alone, not even to go to the toilet. My memory from here is not very good, I think due to the massive rush of adrenalin I had, parts of my memory function were shutting down. All I can recall is that we all went to bed and went to sleep. I did not look out of the windows again, I didn't dare. I don't know if Steve did either. Never the less we did go to bed and I believe that the craft(s) stayed behind. This event made me very Ill. I became withdrawn and depressed. I now know that I have suffered from PTSD. It changed my life completely. My experience has been featured in UFO Data magazine and since this time I have been an active researcher in the topic and I have spoken publicly. I have never reported this story to another party other than the UFO Data team.
Full Description of event/sighting: My roommates boyfriend and I were out on the fire escape, having a cigarette. We were chatting about nothing in particular. All of a sudden both of us became completely silent. Above us in the sky was a bright white light, so bright it drowned out what exactly was under the light. You could tell it was a roundish shape though. It hovered there for what was probably only a few seconds but it seemed a lot longer. Then it just darted off towards the right and was instantly just gone. Neither of us said a word for a few minutes. And when we did speak we didn't even mention what had just happened. For fear the other didn't see it and we would sound like a couple of crazies. A few weeks went by before it was ever talked about. But when we finally did discuss it, we realized we both saw the same thing and were each as equally freaked out by the whole experience.
Full Description of event/sighting: The incident/sighting took place around April 2005 between 11:30-11:35 p.m. I live on the second floor of my family's three story house. My bedroom faces the backyard of my house. I was watching TV in my bedroom. The channel 7 (11 o'clock) news had just ended. I had then proceeded to channel surf. All of a sudden, a huge beam of white light from the sky came through the top portion of my bedroom window and formed a perfect 12 in circle on the wall above my closet. I know it was from the sky because of the beam's direction on my window. It had startled me because the same window had shaken when the light had entered it. At first, I thought it was a search helicopter looking for someone in my backyard. However, I didn't here any noise in the air or car sound in the driveway on the ground. As I stared at my window, I started to hear a low humming noise with a clicking/flickering sound to it and a dark or black looking object approaching my window. I couldn't see any shape to it but my whole back window was now illuminated with this white light and the circle above my closet started to show images of the branches and leaves from the tree in my yard. This lasted about 15 seconds and then it was over. I sat on my bed trying to rationalize what just had occurred. Then I got the courage to look out my bedroom window but I didn't see anything in the sky or in my backyard. I live in the Southward of Newark, NJ. The Newark International Airport is very close by and I hear and see airplanes and helicopters very often. Neither could fit in my backyard. I'm a college counselor at a local university.
Full Description of event/sighting: For some time I taken alot of interest in the UFO phenomenon and the further I went, the more undeniable the facts became. A couple of years ago I saw a UFO with my very own eyes and so did other people that were with me at that time. Before my sighting I still had a small doubt, but when I saw it above me (us), turning from an ordinary satellite orbiting the earth into a star that was moving in a zigzag patterns for some time. It then descended from all the way up there to quite a low altitude so we could see the actual ship (all noiseless at all the time). From below it looked like the usual thing, saucer or a ball (not likely but still) but definitely round and with about 6 -10 beams coming from underneath (not like spot lights). They were located not in the center or neither on the edges of a ship, but kind of in the centre of the radius. (Sorry bout my English it's my second language. Those beams looked more like rocket engine exhausts or a turbo lighter's flame. They had bright orange, red, blue, yellow in them. I couldn't really distinguish the color from underneath, neither could identify the altitude it was hovering at). Hovered for about 5-10 seconds then shot back up into a small light (looked like a star or a satellite again) and continued moving in zigzags until it went over the trees and was no longer visible.
Since then I am sure that there is a conspiracy going on to cover-up the truth about the existence or a well advanced before it's time military project that people should know about, either way we aren't being told the truth. I saw something I can't explain or identify and I'm sure there are many others that are wondering too after they've seen them.
P.S. Majority of the people, even close friends that I've told what I've seen, just grinned and laughed at me. I don't know who I can talk to, someone who can share information or just give me a hint (glimpse) of what it really is and what's going on. If you think its worth it, then please let me join or redirect me.
Full Description of event/sighting: A climbing friend and I were making the final push to summit (11,750 feet) Mt. Timpanogos (Timp) in a pre-winter climb. We were about 1500 feet below the summit in a bowl with the summit to our left (south west).
We watched for it to appear on the other side (southeast) where it appeared shortly. After coming out from behind the peak, the colors muted and didn't seem to change as much. The flittering ceased and the craft began to pick up speed as it headed east towards the horizon. It quickly picked up speed in short distance and then shot to the horizon in a matter of seconds & thus, out of sight. We guess that when we were about 1/2 mile at the furthest from the craft during the experience. We didn't experience anything else that night. If you know of someone in the Utah area that deals with this type of sighting I'd be interested to talk to them.
Full Description of event/sighting: I was on the phone when I looking up to the blue sky and I noticed three oval shaped UFOs traveling in formation heading west. Two of the UFOs split up and traveled south and the other one traveled west. Within five to seven seconds they disappeared. They were traveling faster than any jets I've seen at any show. They were approximately 5000 feet high, and approximately the size of a school bus. I paused for 5 to 7 seconds and apologized to my customer.
Full Description of event/sighting: I could never have imagined that I actually would witness a UFO, when on 22nd February, I had gotten up to have a drink of water. The time was 6.01 a.m., and the sunrise was a half hour away, so it was early dawn. You could see the stars and the sky was unclouded. The reason I saw the sky is because I live on the 3rd storey of my house, and there is a terrace adjacent to my room. So I always love to look at the sky, look at Venus, see the Orion constellation and so on. So, I am yawning, and casually just looking around in the sky, and I am glancing in the southeast direction, where all of a sudden at a 50 degree angle at a long distance ( I will come to the distance a little later) I see this spherical bright object and its not Venus, but looks kind of like it, and as the mental thoughts are going on in my head, it would have barely registered, except it moved ! So, I was like whoa! and as it moved. This object was pulsating, like maybe 1 in 2 seconds and it was emitting this orangish/reddish glow at the bottom of this sphere, and at the same time it was moving horizontally to my right in the sky. I am just amazed as I am looking at it, completely dumbfounded, not scared or worried, but I just don't know what to think. As all these thoughts are running in my head, suddenly, the object starts to move down vertically, it starts to descend, not fast or anything, but not slowly either and it is when I am thinking, there is no way this is a star, or a meteor, because no smoke trail. This thing while it descends half the horizon, it stops!! It just abruptly stops and it blinks, and the next thing I see is that it suddenly disappeared. And, I don't believe it jutted off into space or anything, no way. I was keeping my eyes peeled, just staring at this thing, and not blinking, and right there, how can it just disappear? But it did. So, I frantically rush ahead in my terrace, to see if it is visible from any other angle, at the same time I am thinking that is silly, because there is no trees in my way, that I am trying to circumvent or anything. There is no other angle here, what I saw, that is it! And so I stay there, thinking that maybe it will reappear again, and probably 90 seconds go by and I am just still staring at that exact spot when suddenly I see this passenger plane. It's blinking and everything, and it's tiny, like a baby fly in the sky, but unmistakable. I mean its a passenger plane, it goes right above where this unidentified spherical object disappeared. And that got me thinking, did this UFO, and I believe it was a UFO, did this UFO disappear to avoid the passenger plane crew to see it? Because it would have been right there in front of them, had it remained in the air at that altitude. Anyway, I was excited, told my brother and parents in the morning what happened. I checked out the news to see if there was any other reporting similar things, but nothing. Anyway, I just had to post this, and I swear that it is the whole complete truth.
Full Description of event/sighting: I caught something out of the corner of my eye while putting out the recycling and looked up and saw a streak of light moving what appeared (from my angle of sight) to be from north to south. It was moving at an extremely high rate of speed. I only saw it for a second and it ended with large burst of light. I have seen many meteors burn up in the atmosphere and this event was not similar to all of the meteor events I have seen. The speed of the light was similar to a meteor event though. The streak of light was much larger and the tail (or streak) was "light" not a meteor burn tail. I could not estimate altitude. A guess would be that it was several thousand feet in altitude.
I now host my own show on UFOs with the InnerStreams Radio Network entitled "The Vike Report" in which I bring forward folks who have had nothing short of an amazing UFO experience. These eyewitnesses speak openly about what they saw in taped interviews and as we all listen you can hear a wide range of emotions come out as the witnesses relate their stories to me. In 2007 I will be bringing more new audio reports, plus playing many of some of the most fascinating cases I have received to date. So please tune in. LIVE: Every Sunday 11:00pm Central (1hrs) (12am Eastern, 10pm Mountain, 9pm Pacific or Monday 05:00 am GMT)
