- What if, during that mid-night ride in
1775, Paul Revere's horse broke his leg? What if Revere couldn't
warn the American forces about the British advance? What if he got
drunk and couldn't ride? What if he chickened out for fear of being
shot off his horse by a British red coat? What if he slumped into
his seat at the local tavern-gorged himself on roast pork and was too fat
to get off the chair to get on his horse that night?
-
- He wouldn't have warned the troops and
Americans would have been slaughtered in their camps! America may
not have been born.
-
- Three months ago, I announced the "21st
Century Paul Revere Ride" organized by my brother Howard who has ridden
his horse across America. That journey, chronicled in his book, "Misty's
Long Ride: Across America on Horseback," shows Howard and Misty's
courage on their 3,400 mile trek from sea to shining sea.
-
- At almost age 60, I committed myself
to jump on my iron steed and ride my bicycle across America to warn citizens
of our impending siege by illegal aliens. I promised to touch 48
capitols with three teams of four riders. All riders would enjoy
their meals and origin and destination transport paid for by my organization.
I requested three RVs to be donated by retired military, civilian and other
concerned citizens. I told readers that the Paul Revere Ride was
fully funded and that RV owners would enjoy 50 cents a mile and all their
meals provided.
-
- I told tens of thousands of people that
we would give voice to 50 million Americans from small towns to capitol
cities. We would empower American citizens to fight the illegal invasion
and colonization of their community--and nation.
-
- I've been on 50 radio stations coast
to coast. I've written 500 bicycle clubs in 48 states, Good Sam Clubs,
American Legion, retired officers' clubs, travel clubs, RV organizations,
AARP and many others.
-
- Much like the British troops advancing
on America's militia in Revere's time, two weeks ago, 500,000 illegal aliens
marched on Los Angeles waving Mexican flags in defiance of our U.S. Constitution.
They marched demanding rights they do not have in our country because they
are here illegally. No one arrested them. Over 100,000 marched
in Chicago demanding their rights when they have no rights. A nasty
50,000 illegals marched in Denver, Colorado while 10 of us stood up for
law and order-drowned out by Mexicans screaming Spanish and trampling the
American flag. In Longmont, Colorado last week, a principal at Skyline
High School banned the American flag because he didn't want to hurt the
feelings of illegal alien kids in that school.
-
- Last month, Mexicana Airlines blatantly
boasted in their in-flight magazine, "With all due respect, Los Angeles
is ours." La Raza, the most racist organization in the United
States, boasts, "For the Hispanic race, everything; outside the race,
nothing!"
-
- After seeing our nation invaded and being
colonized; after watching our president and Congress assist the invasion;
after seeing their hoisting the Mexican flag in our schools; and seeing
the disrespect of our language; and seeing Mexicans rupture our rule of
law; and after seeing 500,000 in Los Angeles-I thought Americans would
jump up screaming to stop the invasion.
-
- Instead, in three months, we've got four
riders and one RV for the "21st Century Paul Revere Ride." We
are under-whelmed at the response by Americans. The American apathy
astounds us. Howard and I thought we would have to pick from hundreds
of cyclists and hundreds of RV owners-eager to serve their country.
We thought they would trip over themselves to be a part of this amazing
moment in the 21st century to save their nation. We were grossly
mistaken.
-
- There is a reason for it in the history
books. Professor Joseph Olson of Hamline University School of Law, St.
Paul, Minnesota, points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000
presidential election.
-
- Olson believes the United States is now
somewhere between the "complacency and apathy" phase of the definition
of democracy--with some 40 percent of the nation's population already having
reached the "governmental dependency" phase. "A democracy
or republic is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a
permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until
the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts
from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes
for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury,
with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose
fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship."
-
- A republican form of government stands
tenuous in history's pages. Its citizens fail to participate until
too late. Once the 'motions' of history such as you witnessed in
LA two weeks ago-gain greater momentum than the rule of law-the final chapter
of a democratic form of government decays into dissolution of a stable
society.
-
- The reason Paul Revere's horse didn't
break his leg stems from it being a young stallion. The reason Paul
Revere wasn't drunk stems from the fact that he believed in his new country-and
knew his responsibility: his friends' lives depended on his midnight ride.
The reason he wasn't fat stems from the fact that he loved his country
over food and ease of lifestyle. Revere rode like a man possessed
because he wanted to make a difference in the lives of his children and
future generations.
-
- Out of 300,000,000 Americans, one offered
to drive his RV all the way for one of our teams. Out of 300 million
Americans, only four volunteered to ride bicycles. Out of millions
of retired military officers with RVs, I guess a summer on the golf course
and afternoon parties are more important than serving your country.
Out of millions of retired RV civilian owners driving around on pension
checks and social security, it's too much to ask to spend even two weeks
crossing one of the states for your country.
-
- How hard is it to offer your RV for two
to three weeks to cross your state this summer? Especially when it
won't cost you a dime as we pay 50 cents a mile! How tough is it
to enjoy your paid meals during that time you lead those teams?
How about bicycle clubs riding with us for only two weeks across a particular
state on the route?
-
- We've had many tell me how stupid this
ride will be. We've had military officers tell us it's a waste of
time. We've had dozens of immigration groups wish us well.
We've had people send in donations. What we need is personal action,
drivers and RVs, and bicycle riders at least across each state. How
tough can that be? Conviction without action is worthless!
-
- This is your country, your kids' future
and/or it's Mexico's if this invasion-colonization wins out. You'll
see Mexico's red, white and green flag flying over your schools, towns,
buildings and states. It already flies in many sections of the nation
where Mexicans have become the majority and chased Americans out of their
own towns.
-
- If only five ride bicycles across America,
we're going to do it. We won't complain, gripe or make excuses.
We intend to warn America that our country stands to be conquered by an
invading force much more dangerous than what Paul Revere warned his countrymen.
We shall marshal America's citizens to action in small towns and large
cities. We may not reach 48 capitols, but we'll reach 15. We
may not reach 50 million Americans, but we'll reach 20 million. We
may not create the 'counter critical mass' of Americans we need to stop
this invasion, but we'll do our best.
-
- As one of your countrymen prepared to
ride, much like Paul Revere, I'm not ready to let our country die at the
hands of Mexican invaders. I won't sit by while our Constitution
suffers disdain by our own president. I will light the lantern of
freedom for my fellow Americans. I will not go quietly into
the night to witness the death of my country in silence. 'One' by
land, 'two' by sea, 'three' from the Mexican border!
