- New Orleans is no longer part of America. It is a brave
new world devised by FEMA and the Ministry of Homeland Security. In the
new New Orleans, there are no constitutional rights. Not only are soldiers
allowed to break down doors (as they do in Iraq) in violation of the Fourth
Amendment and even "shoot to kill" if they believe they are threatened
(as soldiers in Iraq "shoot to kill" grandmothers and kids at
Israeli-styled checkpoints), now the Second Amendment no longer exists.

today as police officers began confiscating weapons, including legally
registered firearms, from civilians in preparation for a mass forced evacuation
of the residents still living here," reports the New York Times. "No
civilians in New Orleans will be allowed to carry pistols, shotguns or
other firearms, said P. Edwin Compass III, the superintendent of police.
'Only law enforcement are allowed to have weapons,' he said."

- Of course, the trashing of the Second Amendment is restricted
to poor people. Rich people will be allowed to hire armed guards. Nixing
the Second Amendment "apparently does not apply to hundreds of security
guards hired by businesses and some wealthy individuals to protect property.
The guards, employees of private security companies like Blackwater, openly
carry M-16's and other assault rifles. Mr. Compass said that he was aware
of the private guards, but that the police had no plans to make them give
up their weapons."

- Indeed, New Orleans has become a lot like Iraq. You may
recall Blackwater, the security company hired to protect bureaucrats, soldiers,
and intelligence officers in Iraq. You may also recall that four Blackwater
mercenaries were brutally killed in Fallujah, their mutated and burned
bodies strung up on a bridge to the cheers of Sunni insurgents who don't
take kindly to Americans (or anybody else) invading their country and pushing
them around (and bombing their mosques and neighborhoods). Now that Bush
and FEMA and the Ministry of Homeland Security have trashed the Second
Amendment in the new New Orleans, chances are pretty slim the locals will
be rebelling against the military occupation of their once proud city.
Iraq is awash in weapons (many of them sold to Saddam by Bush's daddy and
Reagan) but the new New Orleans will soon be clean as a whistle-not even
a BB gun will be allowed.

has turned into an armed camp, patrolled by thousands of local, state,
and federal law enforcement officers, as well as National Guard troops
and active-duty soldiers," the New York Times continues. "While
armed looters roamed unchecked last week, the city is now calm. No arrests
were made on Wednesday night or this morning, and the police received only
10 calls for service, a police spokesman said."

- No mention here of the obvious fact many residents armed
themselves to ward off roving gangs of criminals-a distinct minority-who
took advantage of the situation when the police abandoned their posts.
As for the small number of "calls for service," this really is
a no-brainer-the military has spent the last week methodically depopulating
the city (and it is difficult to call the police when phones are inoperable).

- Our neolib rulers plan for the new New Orleans to serve
as a template for the rest of the nation where the Constitution now hangs
precariously by a frayed thread. In the event of a "terrorist attack"
and the imposition of martial law, we can expect the lessons learned in
the new New Orleans to be practiced elsewhere-shoot to kill for "looting"
food and water, doors kicked in by jackbooted troops who ignore the desperate
pleas of hungry and thirsty citizens and lasciviously demand women flash
their breasts (as if life is a segment of the Girls Gone Wild video), and
treating citizens as if they are al-Qaeda suicide bombers.

- Wonderful. Now citizens who carry or own firearms for
protection must surrender them to 'authorities.' For the past 38 years,
this writer has served with NYPD as an auxiliary police officer in the
47th precinct, for the Bronxville Police department under then Chief Steinmuller,
for other local police departments as a reserve officer (the difference
in this part of the country, between auxiliary and reserve is that reserve
officers have been to the police academy for at least 6 months) and specialized
in radio and data communications. As a volunteer, I've been awarded numerous
citations for service. Three by NYS Police Alumni.

- This last organization was disbanded by Elliot Spitzer
for reasons which elude all of us. It seems that some black sheep were
misusing their shields. When one knucklehead does something wrong in our
society, the entire group is blamed and disbanded or worse. It's the way
of it.

Senator Schumer, Sr. Senator of NY. The 'Junior' Senator is of course,
one Hillary Rotten Clinton. Seeing Schumer vent his spleen when it comes
to guns is a trip; especially to those of us who know better about guns
in the hands of citizens. The proof of the efficacy of citizens having
access to firearms is almost self evident merely by looking at the statistics
which exist in countries like England, Australia and Canada. I will not
bore you with such self evident information here, for if you do not get
it by now, you never will.

guns and those who _have_ them.

carry permit issued by the City of NY. A city where it is nearly impossible
to obtain a permit even for your business or residence, let alone carry?

- An unrestricted permit means Senator Anti Gun Chucky-Poo
Schumer may carry at any time, any place and with absolutely no restrictions
whatsoever, just like a police officer. It is valid in the entire state
of NY.

this coming September 13th. It's election day in New York State. If you
vote Democrat, plan on losing even more of your rights under more than
the 2nd Amendment. Much more. And plan on more liberal spending for public
aid such as Welfare and on the dole monies which all of us pay for. Through
