- By the way, and speaking as a former lawyer, by basing
their decision on the Commerce Clause (or the supposed effects that medical
marijuana and personal use has on interstate commerce), the Supremes have
effectively ruled that EVERYTHING can now be legislated under Federal Law.
Granted, the Commerce Clause avenue has been exploited by earlier courts
to greatly expand Federal powers beyond anything the Consitution's framers
had ever intended. But now, where we're dealing with criminal law and jail
sentences (rather than tariffs on certain business activities - the original
type of Commerce Clause case), you're talking fascism in extremis.
