Custer Park, Illinois 1955 Or 1956 Sighting

Date: Approximately 1955 or 1956
Time: Daytime sighting.

Approximately 1955 or 1956, and this one is very special to me for reasons that I am sure you will understand. I was raised in Aurora Illinois, about 40 miles west of Chicago. My grandmother lived by herself in a farm house on the edge of a very small town called Custer Park. When I was little, I used to spend weekends with her once in a while. One weekend in the spring or summer ( I was only about 4 or 5) I was staying over, and as the sun was going down my grandmother was outside getting drinking water from the pump attached to her well. She called me outside and pointed to the west where the sun had already set but was still lighting up the horizon. As she pointed, she said, "Look (name removed), there goes one of God's angels". What she was pointing at was a large bright white light moving silently across the sky from west to east, intense like a star but bigger. Remember, I am talking about 1955 or 1956 here, and that was before any satellites were launched and before the quiet t jets at high altitude we are now used to were flying so there should have been nothing that could move silently across the sky at that time. And you know, I am 53 now, but that memory from when I was 4 or 5 will always stay as fresh in my memory as if it happened yesterday. My grandmother and I were always very close, and to share that moment with her was indescribably special.

Thank you to the witness for this report.

Missing Time On A Country Highway In The Summer Of 1957

Date: Summer of 1957
Time: 9:00 p.m.
Location: Outside of Julian, California (north of San Diego, California)

My late husband had been a retired USAF Lt. Colonel ---- however, the point being is that I had an experience years ago at the age of nineteen. I also had a witness to this startling event. The witness and I ....'(friend)'...had seen a UFO off a country highway leading from Julian, California (north of San Diego, California)...and had seen the UFO hovering off the side of the country road. In fact, after the event we later realized we had lost "Three Hours Of Time". Also, the car would not start after we had stopped the it -- after the UFO finally slowly tilted to a 45 degree angle...and sped off into the sky -- the car started again. This actually happened. I got a very close look at the UFO. If I'd had a camera, I could prove this event but regrettably I did not have a camera at the time.

Additional Information Below:

The UFO sighting occurred in the summer of 1957. A young man named '(removed)' and I had driven to Julian that weekend to see my parent's cabin. We saw the cabin and then drove to the small town of Julian afterwards to walk around and see the sights. Julian is located about sixty-five miles of San Diego, California (where I am from originally).
My friend and I were driving back towards San Diego, California. As we rounded a small mountain on the two-lane, country highway -- we saw a hovering UFO just off to the side. As I recall, the time was approximately 9:00 p.m. Distance-wise, the UFO was about 300 feet east of us -- off the country road. No other cars came by. (friend) was scared to death when he saw the strange craft. He wanted to continue driving as fast as he could to leave the area. I didn't. I wanted to see the strange craft since I didn't know what it was. Silly me, I thought it was something our government had created. In spite of (friend's) protests, he stopped the car but wouldn't get out. I jumped out of the car and ran to the other side of the highway. (friend) kept urging me not to go see the UFO, but I wanted to get a better look at it. I ran to the other side of the highway to observe the craft closer. This was a new experience and I didn't know what to do as I observed the craft hovering about forty feet off the ground. (friend) remained frozen in the car clinging to the steering wheel.

As I stood there by myself watching the strange craft, I saw what appeared to be an aluminum type metal that had been seamed. The craft omitted a strange light at night. There was a dome on top and the craft was circular in appearance. It hovered over the ground. There appeared to be portholes in the upper dome of the craft. Via the portholes, I could see a pulsating red light. I was quite taken in seeing this unusual object. The UFO was hovering over what had been a barbed wire fenced in pasture. There were no houses in the area. I remained standing on the side of the highway for about fifteen minutes. I even waved to the craft. After an approximate fifteen minutes, the strange craft tilted to about a forty-five degree angle. The UFO then righted itself. It picked up more speed and sped off into the sky. I stood there watching this strange phenomena.

After the UFO had sped off into the sky, I hurried back to the waiting car. My friend was terrified. I hurriedly ran around the back of the car and jumped into the driver's seat. My friend was screaming, "The car won't start! The car won't start! This is all we needed." He frantically kept turning the ignition key. Finally, the car's engine started. We headed back towards Highway 395 leading into San Diego. I had to be home at a certain time and couldn't be late.

It seems to me that this event took place within a time frame of about fifteen or twenty minutes. Just before (friend) and I had left Julian earlier, we had checked my watch -- that's how I knew what time it had been when we surprisingly saw the UFO on down the country, two-lane highway -- having left Julian, California. After the UFO incident, my friend asked me to check the time before we approached Highway 395. I did as we drove along. Shockingly, that's when I discovered we had "Lost Three Hours Of Time". Brian, the time just totally disappeared after the UFO incident. I have no idea whatsoever where the missing time went. Absolutely none! It was a real shock because my parents expected me home at a certain time and "Not To be Late"!

The best description is the fact that we were both stunned that this event had even happened. My friend continued to be in a high anxiety state all the way back to San Diego City. The event scared him! I don't recall how I felt physically --- I felt like I was in the 'Twilight Zone' even though I had thought this had been a craft manufactured by our government. I was absolutely shocked when I realized what time it was -- horrified is more like it since I couldn't be late getting home! Whatever triggered the missing time still kind of scares me in a fashion. When time is missing, it's like there's no control.

That's all we could talk about all the way back to my parent's home...meaning having seen the strange UFO earlier. We didn't know what to make of it and especially the three hours of missing time?

After we arrived at my parents home ...it was really late. My mother opened the door wondering where we had been? My father was up anxiously awaiting too -- My friend immediately told them what had happened earlier. My parents believed us -- we shared with my parents everything we had seen earlier. My mother told me not to report anything since she had feared there might be complications later. I followed her advice at the time.

As far as 'marks' on my body, I don't recall seeing strange marks at the time. Nothing came to light until the year 1987 when I had had surgery on my nose. During the minor surgery, my doctor had surprisingly discovered a former 'stitch' on the end of my nose. I told my doctor at the time, "I'd never had a stitch on my nose -- ever in fact." Later I had wondered if this had to do with the UFO episode in the summer of 1957. These are questions that still remain unanswered to this very day in fact.

I've thought of hypnotic regression over the years. However, three hypnotists have tried to hypnotize me in the past -- however, they were not successful. Subconsciously, I apparently tend to resist hypnotic regression.

Over the years since, I have tried to locate my friend on several occasions. I would have liked him to have backed up our true story. He used to live in San Diego, California years ago but I have no idea where he has moved to now. The last time I had seen him, I had been driving by a drive-in restaurant -- I had observed him in a convertible with several kids in the car. The year had been 1966 maybe. Since then, I have no idea whatsoever where he has gone. I wished I could locate him. Now that you mention it, we did kind of go our separate ways after the UFO incident in 1957. That does seem odd to me now that I think about it years later. Again, it had been an incredibly strange night.

No, my parents did not go through a similar situation. I am glad they believed my friend and I because the UFO event did actually happen. My parents knew I didn't lie. Nevertheless, it had been scary knowing I would arrive home much too late after the UFO incident.

Brain, I hope this helps you in your research efforts!

I can't thank the person enough for allowing me to post her story, thank you very much.

Subic Bay Naval Station July 1966

I was on board the USS Holder (DD-819) and we had traveled from Norfolk, Virginia through the Panama Canal on to Pearl Harbor and finally to our temporary home port in the Philippines, Subic Bay Naval Station.

For the next 4 months we were in and out of Subic Bay several times. In these 4 months there was only one time that any aircraft came directly over our ship, and that was on a Sunday in July when we first arrived at the base.

I had just purchased a 35mm German made agfa camera and had loaded it with 36 shot color slide film. I recall distinctly that it happened on a Sunday because we were in our dress white uniforms, and I wanted to get pictures of all my shipmates.
As I walked around deck snapping pictures 2 jet fighter aircraft appeared directly overhead and were in a steep climb nearly straight up with full afterburners kicked in. I took my camera and aimed it at the 2 jets and snapped one picture, I saw nothing other than the 2 jets. The noise from the jet fighters was deafening, and for the next 4 months there was never any plane that came over the top of our ship at pierside.

Tied up pierside with us was a nuclear attack submarine, and our ship was equipped with nuclear anti submarine rockets, ASROC.

When the slides were developed I looked at them and the ones of the 2 fighter airplanes were very small, they must have been at 15,000 feet high or more, I put the slides away and 6 years later, Christmas 1972, a friend gave me a slide projector.

Soon I had a 5 foot square picture screen, actually a white painted wall, to look at my slides on. When I came to the slides of the 2 jets over Subic Bay in 1966, straight above these jets at maybe 35-40,000 feet were 2 distinctive round white dots and the jets were vectored exactly at them.

I showed the slides to several friends and they could not believe what they were seeing. Some suggested reflection in the lens or maybe a defect in the film. All the other shots were perfect and nothing to suggest a malfunction of the camera.

I put the slides away and stored them for many years in the basement, when I went to get them water had wiped them all away, so regrettably I do not have the slides anymore.

Clark Airforce base was nearby and maybe a reader of yours that was a radar operator could comment on this event from 38 years ago. Best Wishes

Thank you to the gentleman for this excellent and interesting report.

I am still requesting other military folks come forward if they have had an experience with an unknown object when serving.

Aurora Illinois Moving Oval Shaped Object

Date: Spring of 1968
Time: Evening

In the late spring of 1968, we had quite a flap of UFO sightings going on in the Aurora area. As a matter of fact, the articles still exist in the Aurora Beacon Newspaper Archives. Toward the end of that period of activity, I got my chance to see one. After dark I was sitting out on our front porch and looking to the east and over a line of trees about 2 or 3 miles away there was this bright light that was moving back and forth over the same path. I watched it for about 5 minutes until I thought to run into the house and get this 2.5 inch refractor telescope that I had. Anyway, when I came back out it was still there so is set the telescope up on it's tripod and lined it up on the path that the object was following.

When I finally got it in sight what I saw was an oval shaped light, red at the front ( the direction of travel at the time ), yellow in the middle and blue at the back. I watched it for a few more passes the it moved off, silently and quickly to the north without gaining altitude- it just got smaller until it was out of sight. Well, I thought the show was over. I stepped out in the middle of our yard, looking all over the sky to the north and east to see if I could see anything else. As I was standing there 2 interceptor jets came out of the west and roared right over me heading north toward where the object disappeared. They just about scared the daylights ( I'm being nice here...) out of me because they were well below 500 feet and on afterburner. I think that I can safely say that was an actual sighting- at least the pilots of those interceptors would certainly agree with me!.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Frankston, Melbourne Five Rectangular Shapes On The Moon

Date: 1970's

I,m not sure how to begin this but in the early 1970,s I,m not sure what year I was living in Frankston a suburb of Melbourne Australia. It was early evening and a neighbor from across the road (name removed) asked me to come over to his house and look at something. He didn,t say what it was.

On arriving at his house I noticed a reflecting telescope set up on a tripod in the front garden, (neighbor) looked through the eyepiece and adjusted the elevation of the telescope slightly then asked me to take a look. The telescope was focused on the moon and was in a low elevation, after a minute of asking what I was looking for he said "do you see anything on the moon I then saw quite distinctly five rectangular shapes set out in a flower petal configuration the narrow ends towards the in inner and outer part of the circle.

There was no doubt the objects were on the moons surface as (neighbor) had to adjust the elevation to match the movement of the earth as the moon set. (Yes setting not rising). He had earlier phoned the Melbourne observatory only to be told that the elevation was too low for their telescope to be used.

I know many other people observed this sighting and I think it was written up in the "Post magazine but not sure about daily papers. I would like to know if anyone followed this up.

Now to my reason for emailing you. Following this sighting I mentioned it to my father on his next visit, he told me that there were very strange things around and that he had personally seen what I believe pilots called a Foo fighter. He was the radar operator on a Meteor NF11 night interceptor sometime in the late 1940,s or early 1950,s he spotted an image on radar and it was then visually confirmed and took up station at their wingtip. He told me these phenomena had been reported many times but no one knew what they were, he didn,t believe they were ball lightning. He said he had also seen strange lights in the air over the south of England near Westbury.

Thank you to the person for this report.

San Bernardino, California Boomerang

Date: 1978
Time: Evening

I left Air Force active duty in 1978 for about 2 1/2 years. My last active duty assignment at that time was George AFB California, just outside of Victorville (It's closed now). Anyway, after separating from the Air Force at that time we lived in San Bernardino, CA. From our house, we could see both the San Bernardino and San Gabriel mountain ranges. Our next door neighbors were temporary foster parents, and I would help out with the kids once in a while. One night, this 16 year old boy that was staying with them and I were sitting in our back yard just after sundown talking about various things. As we sat there, we were looking at the last light on the mountains. It was a clear night, and as a matter of fact there were several aircraft in the air staked up, waiting for clearance to land at Los Angeles International airport, about 90 miles away from us. Anyway, as we sat there we both saw this very large object drift slowly over us and toward the mountains. This thing was really high up, higher than the aircraft waiting to land at LAX and at least 20 or 30 times larger than any of those aircraft. It was sort of a boomerang shape and was reflecting the lights below on what looked like a brushed aluminum skin , with no other lighting. We had it in sight for about 30 seconds to a minute until it disappeared between the mountain ranges.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

San Bernardino, California Sighting - 1979

Date: 1979
Time: Evening

In the San Gabriel mountains that I mentioned in my last account, there was a place called Lytle Creek that we used to like to go and camp. When you get up to the camping area, you have a beautiful view of San Bernardino and Fontana stretched out below you. this one night in 1979 we were camping with a friend of ours in Lytle Creek. We got up there late, so we made dinner just before dark. After dinner we were sitting there looking at the lights and noticed this really bright light over San Bernardino, probably at about 800-1,000 feet. (We hadn't noticed it as we were eating, but we had our kids with us and were pretty preoccupied with them, so it could have been there all along.) At first we thought it was a police helicopter, but then we noticed it did not move, just hung in one place. there were people camping close to us, and they walked over and asked us if we saw the light, too. We all sat there for about 2 hours and the light didn't move at all, just abruptly disappeared. As I said, this is a possible. I have no idea what we were looking a, but there were 5 adults seeing exactly the same thing.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Iowa Whitish Clear Sphere

Date: 1981
Time: Evening

After I reentered active duty with the Air Force in 1981, we made a trip from Offutt AFB, NE back to my home town of Aurora, Illinois. Somewhere in the middle of Iowa, my wife took over driving and I rested. For some reason, I had this strong feeling to lean out the window and look up. I did, and What I saw was a sort of whitish clear sphere drifting in the sky. I pulled back in to tell my wife to pull over so I could get a better look but when she stopped and I got out, it was nowhere to be seen. I have often thought that what I saw was a weather balloon at altitude, but if that was the case I still should have been able to see it after we stopped , and I really don't know what a weather balloon would be doing over the middle of Iowa. Still, there most likely is a natural(earthly) explanation for this one- I just don't know what it is.

Thank you to the witness for the report.

Kelowna, B.C. "V" Shaped Craft

Date: April 25, 2004
Time: 1:20 a.m.

I just read the report of a sighting on April 26th in Kelowna. I saw a similar object on the 25th at 1:20 a.m. I was in Kelowna in a hockey tournament and was in bed in my hotel room. Two team members were also in the room although one was sleeping and the other could not get to the window fast enough to witness the object. What I saw was a "V" shaped craft as big as a DC 10. It did not have a single light on it nor did it make any sound. It caught my eye as I was right beside the window in my room. It was so low that the lights from the streets and buildings illuminated the bottom of it. This event lasted approx: 5-6 seconds. As I mentioned my other room mate dashed across the room but missed it. I thought for sure this would have been in news considering how low it flew. And no I was not drinking, I had two drinks earlier in the evening after our game at 8:00 p.m. If you want to email me feel free, what I have written is 100% true.

Thank you to the witness for this report.

I can't thank this witness enough for coming forward and telling me of what he witnessed. This is an important report as it seems to back up a report I received from another witness. That report can be found by clicking on the following URL:
