- Camp David, the super secure presidential retreat now
at the disposal of Bill Clinton and his senator-elect wife, is littered
with "tons" of pornography, a Marine guard who works there told
a Washington D.C. radio station last week.
-
- Two days later, after admitting to his superiors that
he spilled the beans, the guard lost his job, the Washington Post reported
Friday.
-
- "Lesson to the U.S. Marines guarding Camp David.
If there are girlie mags on the grounds of the the presidential retreat,
keep it to yourself," the Post advised.
-
- None other than Clinton accuser Paula Jones sparked the
nudie magazine flap, when she appeared with DC101 morning man Elliot Segal
to discuss her own revealing pics in this month's Penthouse.
-
- Segal invited listeners to call in and say what they
thought of Jones' photos.
-
- Minutes later, a man was on the phone saying he caught
a glimpse of her Penthouse layout at work.
-
- SEGAL: Where do you work?
-
- CALLER: I'm a guard at Camp David.
-
- SEGAL: Are you saying there's porn at Camp David?
-
- CALLER: Oh yeah, there's tons of it.
-
- The next night, DC101's promotion team was at a Maryland
nightclub near Camp David where a group of Marines told station staff that
they'd cost their buddy his job.
-
- A Marine spokesman confirmed to the Post that a presidential
guard had been disciplined for talking about Camp David's nudie mag stash.
-
- "The question was asked, the individual showed some
honor and integrity and raised his hand and admitted his mistake,"
Maj. David Andersen said. "Camp David is a premier post of our Corps.
Marines are screened and selected using stringent guidelines."
-
- "One of which, apparently, is a ban on talking to
the media," observed the Post.
-
- The White House refused to say whether the Marine's account
about porno magazines at Camp David was accurate.
