- Israel Defense Forces soldiers shot dead three Palestinians
in the pre-dawn hours Wednesday, during arrest sweeps in the West Bank
cities of Nablus and Tul Karm.

- In the Gaza Strip, Palestinian gunners fired two Qassam
rockets and a number of mortar shells at settlements. There were no injuries
or damage reported.

- In Nablus, soldiers of the Nahal Brigade reconnaissance
unit located a wanted member of the Fatah's Tanzim militia. The fugitive
tried to draw a weapon, and soldiers opened fire and killed him.

- The troops then spotted a figure hidden in some bushes.
Believing the figure to be suspicious, they fired at him, and shot him
dead.

- An IDF spokesman said the second man had refused to surrender
to the troops. Subsequent checks found that the hiding man had been unarmed.

- Palestinian witnesses identified the two men as Naim
Atari and Aboud Kasas.

- "Nablus is the hottest and most dangerous town,"
a senior IDF commander told reporters in Nablus on Tuesday on condition
of anonymity. "Most of the suicide bombers, most of the bombs, most
of the ammunition, is in Nablus."

- In an exchange of fire in Tul Karm, Nahshon Brigade soldiers
killed an armed Hamas fugitive. Palestinian witnesses identified hiim as
21-year-old Hisham Haraish.

- A total of 24 Palestinians were arrested by IDF soldiers
overnight, including Mantasar Abu-Elyan, deputy commander of the Fatah
military arm in Jenin.

- Late Tuesday night, IDF troops opened fire on a suspicious
figure, possibly armed with an anti-tank missile, crawling toward a settlement
in the Gaza Strip.

- The IDF said it was unsure if the person was hit, and
Israeli and Palestinian searches of the area revealed no body.
