- MOSUL, Iraq (Reuters) - A
leading judge in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul has been assassinated,
a police official says.

- The judge, Youssef Khoshi, a Kurd, was shot and killed
by three men in a car.

- "He was killed last night. He was shot six times
from behind in the back. He died immediately," said police Major Ali
Mohammed on Tuesday.

- Khoshi was one of three chief investigative judges in
Mosul.

- Iraq oil executives, police and other judges working
under the U.S. administration ruling Iraq have previously been targeted
in similar attacks.
