- Photos recently running around the net showing what appeared
to be a landed silver saucer in the desert (photos by Thomas Gore, shot
from a plane) turn out to be an elaborate construction of a member of the
Church of the Subgenius, a gag mail-order quasi-religion that worships
a clip art face named J.R. "Bob" Dobbs (for lack of a better
explanation!).
The old abandoned saucer home, also called a "Pleasure Saucer,"
where many a SubGenius "devival" has no doubt been held, can
