make what officials call a "controlled landing" in Iraq.

- The US military says an Apache helicopter has been forced
down south of Mosul, in northern Iraq, after a fire broke out on board.

- It is not know why the helicopter caught fire and there
are no reports of any casualties.

- Yesterday, a US helicopter made a "controlled hard
landing" near the flashpoint town of Falluja west of Baghdad after
coming under ground fire.

- The two-man crew escaped injury.
