- LONDON (Sapa-AP)-- A tiny
Rembrandt print worth around £800 (about R9,000) is to be auctioned
after it was found in a box of trash in a charity shop.
-
- A Beggar Man And A Beggar Woman Conversing, measuring
only 8cm by 7cm, was found by paintings expert Sarah Flynn among items
due for the waste bin in Emmaus homeless charity shop in Carlton, central
England, in September.
-
- It was printed sometime after Rembrandt's death in 1669
from a copper plate etching the artist made in 1630.
-
- Flynn's employer, Cheffins auctioneers, plans to sell
the print on behalf of Emmaus on December 4.
-
- "Something like this is hopefully going to create
a lot of excitement and interest," she said.
