- An Assistant U.S. Attorney who was prosecuting a rapper in a high-profile
trial has been found dead and presumed murdered in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania,
officials said on Thursday.

- U.S. Attorney Thomas M. DiBiagio said the body of Jonathan
Luna, 38, was discovered behind a business in Lancaster County about 50
miles from Baltimore.

- Authorities launched a search when Luna did not show
up for court for the fourth day of the high-profile trial of a Baltimore
rap artist who was accused of heroin dealing.

- DiBiagio said preliminary results indicated that Luna
was murdered but gave no further details.

- Rapper Deon Lionnel Smith, 32, and his former associate
Walter Oriley Poindexter, 28, were accused of running a drug ring from
their Stash House Records studio.

- U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft said in a statement,
"On behalf of the entire United States Department of Justice, I express
our deepest condolences to Jonathan's family, colleagues and friends. All
appropriate resources will be dedicated to investigating this matter."
