- FALLUJAH (Reuters) -- A crowd
of angry Iraqis set a police station and the mayor's building ablaze in
the town of Haditha on Tuesday, protesting against the alleged killing
of an Iraqi girl during a raid by American troops, witnesses said.

- A United States military spokesperson in Baghdad said
he had no information on the alleged killing in the town, which lies north-west
of Baghdad on the way to the Syrian border.

- Iraqi police opened fire to try to contain the crowd.
Witnesses said the front of the major's building and a police station were
on fire.
