* A broad order shall be requested to determine if child behind the haunting is buried at the house *

At his own cost and expense, Guillermo Garrido, police councilman (sic) of Peñaflor, began researching the strange paranormal events which have caused a family of the commune to resort to tranquilizers. The former Carabineros (state police) sergeant, who still has the proverbial green blood flowing through his viens, shall present a complaint for [...] the alleged crime of homicide and illegal burial.

The councilman grabbed the bull by the horns, since he is convinced that the main victim of the hauntings [...], student Dominic Rickenberg, 16, is telling the truth.

The young woman swears that she is beset by the soul of a little boy that was murdered and buried in his backyard. For this reason, Garrido shall appeal to the courts in search of a broad order to investigate.

The ghost entered into Dominic's life from one day to another. "Earlier this year, she came into the living room in a state of fright, chilled to the bone, saying that a shadow had entered through the bathroom window. That was a terrible night and no one was able to sleep. It [the ghost] rattled the beds, chairs and furniture amid laments. We have not been able to get a moment's peace from that moment onward," said her mother, Yolanda Villalobos, who placed a cross on the door to her home yestertday.

Tired of enduring the shadow's onslaughts as it emerges out of nowhere at any time of day or night to gossip horrible secrets from beyond the grave, the owner of the house and his wife began to dig in their backyard. This was a desperate measure taken by the family after the ghosts tried to strangle Dominic's pet with its invisible hands.

Half a meter down, the diggers came across a pair of baby shoes, a stuffed animal, diapers and bottles of formula. They didn't want to continue out of fear of coming across a corpse without the proper court order to do so, since a court could impose a stiff sentence for illegal exhumation.

Before the Rickemberg-Villalobos family moved in, the house was occupied by an alcholic couple with a 2 year-old son named Fabián. The boy vanished from the neighborhood before his parents mysteriously deserted the area. According to locals, these n'er-do-well parents hurt the boy every so often, and they fear that he may have been killed. "It must be the soul of the innocent child clamoring to be taken out of the hole and put to rest on consecrated soil, " said a local woman who was handing out amulets to ward off evil yesterday.

Guillermo Garrido inspected the shoes--made in Japan--and even chatted with the neighbor who gave them to little Fabian as a gift. Now he is ready to bring the full weight of the law to bear against the current place of residence of the suspects to see if the child is still with them. If not, it might be necessary to dig up the Rickenberg's back yard.
