Pamela Hennessy (family spokesperson) expressed her outrage:

"I've been contacting the ACLU since the beginning of my involvement in
this case to have them speak out against what's going on with Terri, It's
going on against her will. She's had her religious freedoms stripped from
her. She's had her civil liberties stripped from her. And they're defending
the husband?"
AARP is considering filing a brief Monday to the Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Court.
in support of Michael because some members are expressing concern that their
signed living will could be overridden by the Legislature.

ACTION NEEDED

We need to convince AARP this case does not involve a signed living will. It is based on an alleged hearsay statement that is highly suspect.

"Thousands of people from around the country have been calling and e-mailing
state offices in Tallahassee, urging officials to save Terri Schiavo."

Waters, the Florida Supreme Court's spokesman, said he's personally taken
dozens of calls. The Supreme Court has received more than 100 calls about
it to its various offices, Waters said.

Bush spokeswoman Alia Faraj said the Governor's Office had gotten 165,411
e-mails about Schiavo since Aug. 27 and "thousands of phone calls."

Terri's condition is improving. However, George Felos said he hopes Circuit
Judge Douglas Baird, who is hearing the new lawsuit, will quickly find
[Terri's Law] . . . unconstitutional. Felos' written brief is due Monday,
and state Attorney General Charlie Crist's response is due five days later. If Baird and the regional appeals court act quickly, the issue could be before
the Florida Supreme Court as early as next month, Felos said.

Living Wills

A few nights ago Morton Kondracke (Fox News "Special Report" with Brit Hume)
opined that, in light of the Terri Schiavo case, the one thing the entire panel agreed
upon was that everyone should have a living will.

But think about it: In signing a living will, Terri -- like most of us -- would have had
no idea that "vegetative state" would mean a condition in which she could smile at her
mother, try to talk, and most importantly, receive therapy that might improve her condition.

She would have had no idea that there is controversy in medical and theological circles
about the diagnosis of "vegetative."

She would have had no idea that starving to death is a very controversial means of dying.

If she had signed a living will, there would have been no way to save her.
She simply would have starved to death.
