- Federal agents met a Russian airliner that landed at
John F. Kennedy Jr. International Airport Wednesday afternoon, as they
sought to interview one or more passengers on board the plane.

- The Aeroflot 767 jet, which was en route to New York
City from Moscow, was met by agents from the FBI, the U.S. Customs Department
and the Port Authority police when it landed shortly after 2:00 p.m.

- According to broadcast reports, sources in Moscow told
FBI officials they should interrogate one or more passengers on board the
plane. However, it is still unclear why the passengers are being questioned.

- CNN reported that law enforcement agencies had received
indications that suspicious cargo was on board the plane, but the Federal
Aviation Administration now confirms that no such cargo was found.

- The plane is being held at a remote area of JFK Airport
while law enforcement agencies conduct their investigation.

- So far, there have been no service disruptions at the
airport.
