- Britain's royals were engulfed in further damaging claims
yesterday over a series of sensational allegations about the gay sex life
of former royal butler Paul Burrell and other palace servants.
-
- The tawdry Burrell affair took a sexual twist when newspapers
reported that the married, former confidant to Princess Diana had sex with
an Australian friend, Greg Pead, in Buckingham Palace and proposed a gay
threesome with a British businessman, Kevin Horkin.
-
- The new allegations against Mr Burrell, acquitted of
theft 10 days ago, came as former palace security chief David Davies revealed
that homosexual royal servants, part of a "gay mafia", had regularly
smuggled male prostitutes into Buckingham Palace and other royal residences.
-
- He told London's Sunday Times newspaper that servants
regularly brought "rough trade" into the palace, despite fears
the practice compromised the security of the Queen and other royals.
-
- "My concern is that the issue of homosexuality in
the palaces and residences has been a matter of considerable concern and
embarrassment to royalty protection for years," he said.
