- AMSTERDAM - A legal complaint
has been submitted alleging the wife of European Central Bank president
Wim Duisenberg discriminated against Jewish people in her pro-Palestinian
campaign .
-
- Lawyer Moszkowicz said on Thursday he was representing
several members of the Jewish community who took offence to comments Gretta
Duisenberg made in a recent radio interview.
-
- Dutch associated press ANP explained that Duisenberg
had recently collected petition signatures for her "Stop the Occupation"
campaign and when the radio interviewer asked her how many people had signed,
Duisenberg said 6 million and laughed.
-
- Moszkowicz claimed Duisenberg was referring to the 6
million Jews the Nazis killed during World War II and criticised the statement,
claiming she had intentionally tried to wound the Jewish community.
