- WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Conservative
U.S. preacher Jerry Falwell apologized on Saturday for calling the prophet
Mohammad a terrorist, saying he meant no disrespect to "any sincere,
law abiding Muslim."
-
- The apology came after top Iranian and British officials
condemned the remarks, which Falwell made last week in an interview on
the CBS new show "60 Minutes."
-
- "I think Muhammad was a terrorist," Falwell
said in the interview. "I read enough of the history of his life written
by both Muslims and -- non-Muslims, (to know) that he was a -- a violent
man, a man of war."
-
- The comments angered Muslims around the world, triggering
Hindu-Muslim clashes in western India on Friday and Saturday that left
at least nine people dead. Earlier in the week, there were protests in
Kashmir, the disputed province at the heart of a military standoff between
India and Pakistan, and outside the offices of CBS News in New York.
-
- Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi on Wednesday
condemned the remarks as encouraging violence.
-
- "What this American priest said encourages war among
civilizations and also increases crises and it should be confronted,"
Kharrazi said.
-
- British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, who was in Iran
to seek Tehran's support for a tough U.N. resolution on Iraq, said he regarded
Falwell's comments "as much an insult to me as a Christian as they
are to Muslims."
-
- Falwell, a conservative Baptist and a leading voice for
the Christian right in America, said in a prepared statement that he was
sorry for the hurt feelings caused by his comments.
-
- "I sincerely apologize that certain statements of
mine made during an interview for (the Oct. 6 edition of) CBS's '60 Minutes'
were hurtful to the feelings of many Muslims.
-
- "I intended no disrespect to any sincere, law abiding
Muslim," he said.
-
- Falwell said his error came from answering a "controversial
and loaded question" at the end of an hour-long interview.
-
- "That was a mistake and I apologize," he said.

- Commentary
- To Jerry Falwell - Who Was The Terrorist?
By S. B. Waheed
10-14-2
-
-
- Mr. Falwell's misrepresentation of truth by calling the
Prophet of Islaam a 'terrorist' (on 60 Minutes ìCBSî 10-06-02)
is not only absurd, but also begs to set the record straight. It has become
a daily ritual for those who want to be under spotlight to take a shot
(verbal assault) on Islaam and/or Glorious Quraan and/ Prophet Muhammad.
However, all such self appointed experts (master orators of insignificance)
have hopelessly failed to present the proof of their claims and/or allegations,
thus, Mr. Falwell is not an exception to these random acts of bigotry.
-
- One might wonder that what happened to Christian (camouflage)
teaching of 'love thy enemy?'
-
- However, beside that, Mr. Falwell did exercise his right
of freedom of speech without supporting his prejudicial statement with
facts. On the contrary my fact-finding mission as a researcher of Bible
for over a decade has led me to discover much more than what is presented
in this treatise. We learn from the Bible that it was Jesus, who was a
terrorist and/or a convicted felon for high crime and treason, his well
planned and executed attack on the Temple resulted in his trail and eventually
he was sentenced to death. So Christiansí sham god didnít
die for original sin or anyoneís sin, he was convicted for felony
and according to the Bible rightfully so.
-
- Mr. Falwell, please keep this in mind that a religion
is judged by its scripture.
-
- According to the Bible Jesus was the first individual
in the history of mankind whose terrorist attack on the Temple resulted
in siege, death, and destruction. Bible also tells us that Jesus took hostages;
he destroyed everything in the temple. The facts from the very Bible impeach
Jesus and Christians exposing their camouflaged rhetoric of ìloveî
that there is no such thing in Christendom. From the very Bible we also
learn that according to Jesus (who is claimed to be god and/or son of god
and/or both by Christians), Christians canít handle the truth and
in order to accomplish this Christians needs 'spirit of truth' which they
donít have. Let me quote Isaiah 1:18 before I proceed:
-
- "Come now, and let us reason together, saith the
LORD" (KJV)
-
- Terrorist attack on the Temple:
-
- The three synoptic gospels tell us an account of terrorist
attack by Jesus on the temple. We read in:
-
- Mark: 011:015 And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went
into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the
temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of
them that sold doves;
-
- 011:016 And would not suffer that any man should carry
any vessel through the temple.
-
- Luke: 019:045 And he went into the temple, and began
to cast out them that sold therein, and them that bought;
-
- *Before this attack Jesus has already ordered in same
chapter for killing of his enemies:
-
- Luke: 019:027 But those mine enemies, which would not
that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me.
-
- Matthew: 021:012 And Jesus went into the temple of God,
and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew
the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
-
- John: 002:013 And the Jews' passover was at hand, and
Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
-
- 002:014 And found in the temple those that sold oxen
and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:
-
- 002:015 And when he had made a scourge of small cords,
he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured
out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables;
-
- 002:019 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this
temple, and in three days I will raise it up.
-
- NOTE: In chapter 2 of John, Jesus' behavior is more likely
of a "juvenile delinquent" who goes to a party (wedding), demands
wine. When his mother informs him that the hosts don't have wine, Jesus
insults his mother followed by his alleged miracle of changing water into
wine. The wine well liked by guests. This raises the question that if it
is true than why Jesus asked for less quality wine comparing to his alleged
wine of miracle? Nevertheless, Jesus after getting drunk goes to Temple
with his gang and unleash his terrorist attack on the Temple, it is by
the way "Passover" day. That means Temple is very crowded and
filled with pilgrims for all over.
-
- Luke: 022:036 Then said he unto them, But now, he that
hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath
no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
-
- 022:037 For I say unto you, that this that is written
must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors:
for the things concerning me have an end.
-
- 022:038 And they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords.
And he said unto them, It is enough.
-
- The above verses clearly prove that Jesus was on rampage
by over-turning the tables, throwing seats of moneychangers etc. But that
is not it, as we see in the above verses that Jesus besieged the whole
huge Temple allowing no one to come in and go out, he is physically assaulting
people in the Temple and destroying their property. We also see that John
is shining more light on this terrorist attack in which Jesus is lashing,
bashing and trashing the Temple and claiming to be the king of Jews. This
terrorist attack on Temple resulted in death of hundreds of people. We
know it cannot be carried out alone that means Jesus probably has his rebel
army with him. There is no evidence that Christian god died for original
sin, he rather committed a felony of high crime and treason and was sentenced
to death. We also see that Jesus was uncooperative and arrogant with authorities
during investigation of this attack as we read further these chapters.
-
- Evangelists always camouflage this act of terror by statement
like this:
-
- "Jesus purified the Temple."
-
- This helps us to get in the of crusaders who have made
similar statements after they purified the ìJerusalemî with
their lust for genocide, by murdering hundreds of thousands of Muslims
and thousands of Jews, looting, raping and eating the flesh of dead Muslims.
-
- The first crime committed was 'disobedience' and root
cause of that crime was 'arrogance/pride' of (Iblees/Satan), who refused
to prostrate before Adam, after his creation. The same arrogance and pride
is found in Christendom for refusing to accept the truth that even Jesus
himself told his disciples/followers that Christians donít have.
-
- Now let us explore Bible further: Baby killer Jesus:
-
- Following verses tells us that Jesus is not only threatening
to punish adulterers, but also threatening to kill the children of those
who commit adultery.
-
- Rev: 002:020 Notwithstanding I have a few things against
thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself
a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication,
and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.
-
- 002:021 And I gave her space to repent of her fornication;
and she repented not.
-
- 002:022 Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them
that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent
of their deeds.
-
- 002:023 And I will kill her children with death; and
all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and
hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
-
- Christians can not handle the truth and need 'Spirit
of Truth' according to Jesus:
-
- John 15:26 (KJV):
-
- 015:026 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send
unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from
the Father, he shall testify of me:
-
- John 16:12-15 (KJV):
-
- 016:012 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye
cannot bear them now.
-
- 016:013 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come,
he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but
whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things
to come.
-
- 016:014 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of
mine, and shall shew it unto you.
-
- 016:015 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore
said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
-
- The above verses are evidence that the ìSpirit
of Truthî is to come. Jesus wanted to say many things, but didnít,
as he explicitly stated that his followers canít handle them especially
the truth. In order to get the truth followers of Jesus have to wait for
'Comforter/Spirit of Truth/Paraclete.'
-
- Jesus is also claimed to be 'Paraclete/Comforter' in
the Bible and not god and/or son of god: Glorious Quraan 5:72-73!
-
- 72. Surely, they have disbelieved who say: "All'h
is the Messiah ['Iesa (Jesus)], son of Maryam (Mary)." But the Messiah
['Iesa (Jesus)] said: "O Children of Israel! Worship All'h, my Lord
and your Lord." Verily, whosoever sets up partners in worship with
All'h, then All'h has forbidden Paradise for him, and the Fire will be
his abode. And for the Z'lim°n (polytheists and wrongdoers) there are
no helpers.
-
- 73. Surely, disbelievers are those who said: "All'h
is the third of the three (in a Trinity)." But there is no il'h (god)
(none who has the right to be worshipped) but One Il'h (God -All'h). And
if they cease not from what they say, verily, a painful torment will befall
the disbelievers among them. Glorious Quraan 53:3!
-
- Nor does he speak of (his own) desire.
-
- 1 John 2:1 (KJV): 002:001 My little children, these things
write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate
with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: (Note: Greek word ìParakletosî
[English {Paraclete} has also translated as ìAdvocateî, ìMediatorî
and ìComforterî in different versions of Bible)
-
- 1. John 16:12-15 tells us that Jesus' mission was incomplete,
which needed the 'Spirit of Truth' to finish the job, Jesus is leaving
behind unfinished.
-
- 2. Jesus' preaching was insufficient and Jesus' teachings
need complement.
-
- 3. Followers of Jesus still need the 'Spirit of Truth'
(how funny Christians claims that they have the infallible truth? And Jesus
says they don't and they can't bear the truth).
-
- 4. Jesus said that another 'Paraclete/Comforter/Spirit
of Truth' will come and will complete the unfinished mission of Jesus.
-
- The also need to be understood with Matthew 3:11:
-
- 003:011 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance:
but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy
to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: The mighty
ONE is no other than MUHAMMAD:
-
- NOTE: In Bible (Old Testament and New Testament (both)
the word ìSpiritî does not apply righteous and wicked as well,
proof:
-
- 1 John 4:5!
-
- 004:001 Beloved, believes not every spirit, but try the
spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out
into the world.
-
- Muslims believe that the 'Spirit of Truth/Comforter/Paraclete'
is no other than Prophet Muhammad, who came after Jesus. Muslims also have
the Quran to prove it.
-
- Matthew 3:11 can be reconciled with Quran 61:6- And (remember)
when 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), said: "O Children of Israel!
I am the Messenger of All'h unto you confirming the Taur't [(Torah) which
came] before me, and giving glad tidings of a Messenger to come after me,
whose name shall be Ahmed. But when he (Ahmed i.e. Muhammad) came to them
with clear proofs, they said: "This is plain magic."
-
- Mr. Falwell, Islaam, Muslims and Quraan revere Isa (Jesus)
as one of the great prophets of Islaam and his mother Mariam (Mary) [peace
be upon them] more than Christians and their Bible. The 'Spirit of Truth'
is the very Muhammad, whom you falsely called a terrorist. Christians can't
have truth until, they believe and follow the Spirit of Truth about whom
Jesus, said will come and complete the mission of Jesus. Bible has portrayed
Jesus as bad guy at many places, that he was not.
