Man Dies After Decapitation Attempt
Over $542 In Taxes

BRATISLAVA (Reuters) - A Slovak man died after trying to decapitate himself with a home-made guillotine because he had fallen behind in paying his taxes, police said on Tuesday.
The 56-year-old man drove his car in front of the tax office in the western Slovak town of Malacky late last month, pulled out a devise resembling a guillotine, stuck his head in it and tried to decapitate himself, the police said.
"It did not cut his head off completely...but he wounded himself so badly that he died afterwards," Malacky Police Chief Milan Kuzma told Reuters.
The man left a message, saying he could no longer pay his taxes, which totaled around $542.
