- Dear Mr. Strader:

- I am in receipt of your letter stating that Federal law
authorizes officers of the Department of Justice to give opinions or to
render legal services only to Federal officials charged with public responsibilities.
You sent back the press release on Coke and told me to contact the FDA.
Since it was the FDA who over-ruled a Board of Inquiry to get NutraSweet
approval, am I to understand they will turn themselves in? Even in the
protest of the National Soft Drink Association, a part of the congressional
record there is the admission of aspartame breaking down in moderate temperature.
(www.dorway.com). They mention under FDA Act 21, section 409 it is against
the law to use a product that will result in adulteration of the beverage.
Even today Coke admits this breakdown, see note from consumer who called
Coke. So I ask, why is the FDA allowed to break the law?

- Perhaps you might want me to contact my congressman.
Do you know there have been three congressional hearings already that
got nowhere because Monsanto funds members of Congress like Senator Orrin
Hatch, who had originally said no to hearings. From looking at the tapes
of the hearings you could throw up watching Senator Hatch praise FDA with
no concern about aspartame. Evidence was submitted (secret trade information)
showing Searle admitting almost complete conversion to DKP, the brain tumor
agent, and that if they told the FDA it might not get approved. Even
the manufacturer admitted it couldn't be used in everything. But Dr. Kessler
granted blanket approval of this neurotoxin to be used like sugar before
he left office amid allegations that he padded his expense account.

- The FDA's own commissioner years ago stated the Allowable
Daily Intake was set for rats and not humans, but they distribute material
on the ADI without any mention this is not acceptable for humans. The
Atlanta Journal Constitution got some of their rubbish and they publicized
the fact it was okay to use 17 Diet Sodas a day and use 85 packets of Equal
a day for a lifetime. For refusing to publish a retraction even when they
were written and documentation quoted, they get the new Hall of Shame dedicated
to them for misleading the public. If consumers were using this quantity
they say is safe you would probably have people dropping in the streets.
Linda Gimler called saying she was using a 12 pack of Diet Drinks a day,
each 12 ounces. She complained of the usual symptoms of memory loss (11
on the FDA list in order of prevalence) and "being mean to people"
as she calls it often in a rage. Linda says there are times when she doesn't
remember what she has said. She even forgets to pickup her grandchildren.

- Today Linda called sobbing saying her husband had left
her. He didn't understand aspartame can trigger rage and mood swings.
And how can physicians correlate the victims symptoms to aspartame with
the phony baloney marketed to the public. (in violation of Title 18, Section
1001) . She is also going through withdrawal symptoms triggered by this
addictive drug. Doesn't Linda Gimler also have granted to her, life, liberty
and the pursuit of happiness? Do you have any idea how many lives are shattered
because a chemical company manufactured for human consumption a deadly
neurotoxin that may now be in 9000 products and climbing? Think about
these behavioral problems in the context of children killing children.
Aspartame is an addictive drug, not an additive. Psychiatrist Ralph Walton
M.D., says "We have known for years that when aspartame is ingested
with a carbohydrate rich meal the usual physiologic increase in tryptophan
is blocked, while brain phenylalanine and tyrosine concentrations are increased.
These changes in amino acid neurotransmitter precursors could, I believe,
alter indoleamine/catechloramine balance, and thus have a profound effect
on mood and cognitition - depressed mood, anxiety, dizziness, panic attacks,
nausea, irritability, impairment of memory and concentration. " When
a consumer is using a product that changes brain chemistry how can they
be responsible for the rage and mood swings it causes. Do you really need
a drug on the market that can escalate crime???

- Michelle Reesor of Oshawa Ontario called today too, saying
her son has seizures, uses lots of aspartame, and the doctor's can't explain
his medical problems. You can be sure that her physician was never told
that aspartame is a seizure triggering drug. Instead he has Monsanto propaganda
aspartame is an additive.

- Isn't it the law you are to report any crime you know
about? We keep reporting this crime to the Justice Department and nothing
is being done. FDA has protected Monsanto for years, and Monsanto even
hired Dr. Michael Friedman who was getting the case histories. Why should
I expect the FDA to have the manufacturer recall aspartame based on the
FDC law. The FDA ALLOWED the pop companies to put aspartame in pop with
full knowledge it was against the law in the first place. Yet it was the
FDA who wanted Searle indicted for fraud in the beginning before there
was such an incestuous relationship.

- And today because of the problems aspartame triggers
we have new diseases. For instance, there is now a list for non-epileptic
seizures. Nobody understands why so many are experiencing seizures for
no apparent reason;. Perhaps they can't even imagine that our government
would allow a seizure triggering drug to be approved as an additive with
100 million users!! Used as a pivotal study was SC-18862, a 52 week oral
toxicity infant monkey study. Five of the seven monkeys had grand mal
seizures and 1 died. Yet the FDA accepted this study as proof of safety.

- Then we have nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). Why
would a ten year old child have cirrhosis of the liver?. It usually is
seen with those who use alcohol excessively! Consider kids using aspartame
laced drinks and sugarfree gum, etc, which contain wood alcohol.

- Now there is even a "Twitch" list for those
who are experiencing these neurological symptoms. One article talks about
the new disease called Burning Mouth Syndrome, a dead giveaway they are
using aspartame. Even on 60 Minutes someone from the military admitted
that those with Desert Storm Syndrome have this "burning tongue"
and they could not come up with a source. James Bowen, M.D., said many
of the troops may not have reacted to other biochemical warfare if they
had not first been poisoned by aspartame. It's called polychemical sensitivity
syndrome. In the UK a newspaper article spoke of millions of young people
getting macular degeneration and they didn't know why. Aspartame victims
usually suffer some visual disturbance from retinal detachments to complete
blindness because the wood alcohol converts to formaldehyde and then formic
acid in the retina of the eye. Often victims suffer macular degeneration
before they go blind. Joyce Wilson did, www.dorway.com and then she died
from NutraSweet. Aspartame can precipitate Parkinson's disease, as in
the case of Diet Pepsi spokesman, Michael Fox. It also changes the dopamine
level of the brain. It can precipitate diabetes and even Lou Gehrigs Disease
which Dr. Bowen suffers from, also a victim of aspartame.

- Mr. Strader, you may wonder how one toxin can trigger
so many symptoms and diseases? It's all a matter of public record. The
largest study ever accomplished on the toxin NutraSweet has been going
on using the consumer public. Welcome to the International Society
of guinea pigs and lab rats! There is a river of information from physicians
on the subjects discussed. The Trocho study shows the formaldehyde accumulates
in the cells and damages DNA. Yes, do-it-yourself embalming can ravage
every organ in the body. When you mess with chromosones you can destroy
a species! That's from generation to generation. According to Dr. James
Bowen aspartame is an abortifacient, causes to abort, a terotogen, birth
defect production, adjuvant, form antigenic tissue, triggering immunologic
attack and a chelating agent, chelates metal and promotes heavy metal
poisoning. Yet, Monsanto/Searle/FDA/trade organizations tell the consumer
public pregnant women can use this neurotoxin.

- If this isn't stopped, what kind of world will we leave
to our children and grandchildren? Normal routes to stop this insanity
don't work. Three times there were congressional hearings and because
of heavy Monsanto lobbying a bill couldn't even get out of committee to
do independent studies on aspartame. You may say go through your congressman.
Been there, done that. My Congressman Newt Gingrich, at the time was
Speaker of the House, making him one of the most important men in our
country. Mr. Gingrich gave the FDA 26 questions for them to answer from
us. That was over 4 years ago and the FDA still refuses to answer them.
I've told them repeatedly I don't want an envelope full of Federal Registers.
When they can't answer questions they send you attachments and evade the
issue. They tell the public aspartame is safe in face of their own audit,

Why are they permitted to lie to the public. ? While the FDA tells the
consumer public the studies on aspartame proved safety, remember it was
FDA who asked U.S. Prosecutor Sam Skinner to indict Searle for fraud because
of these studies. Their own toxicologist, Dr. Verrett, told Congress
aspartame studies should be thrown out because they were built on a foundation
of sand. And their senior toxicologist, Dr. Adrian Gross, told Congress
beyond a shadow of a doubt aspartame produced brain tumors and violated
the Delaney Amendment. His last words being: "And if the FDA violates
its own laws who is left to protect the public? "

- The public has played by the book seeking congressional
hearings, notifying congressmen, and doing whatever is required to rid
the world of this neurotoxin. The problem is that the FDA threw out the
book and wrote their own. They refuse to answer questions, lie and deny,
and serve above the law. Even the CDC who did a very damning investigation
on aspartame, allowed a summary to be added that contradicted the report.
Monsanto has a big checkbook giving money to the trade organizations that
are suppose to be there to help, but yet accept funds and allow Monsanto
to write their material. And they have people in big places. Even Clarence
Thomas on the Supreme Court was once a Monsanto attorney, and an attorney
for King and Spalding was once a Monsanto attorney. And even though you
can't rely on "hearsay", at the Olympics there was a woman
who knew Monsanto people and said they bragged on having power with judges.

- So tell me, Mr. Strader, how do we keep the food supply
safe? The FDA has been responsible for unsafe food and drugs. Today we
have to look at every label and almost have to eat from scratch. Tell
me how we can get action, not spin our wheels. Monsanto has ducked for
cover by selling the Nutratanic to more than one entity, including a group
of Monsanto managers. But they are still liable under Title 18, the Genocide
law, and there is no statute of limitations under crimes against humanity.
As to the FDA, they know aspartame is a chemical poison yet mislead the
public.Dr. Bowen told them years ago aspartame was mass poisoning of the
public and more than 70+ countries of the world. They ignored it. They
could have gotten aspartame recalled when the Community Nutrition Institute
petitioned them in l986 because hundreds were going blind - they still
are. But they protected the manufacturer instead of the people. Mary
Reiff is a victim declared legally blind but was fortunate to regain her
sight off aspartame. But her wrists tell the story of the horror she lived
under when she slashed those wrists trying to take her life. Suicidal
tendencies are triggered by lowered serotonin. Today she is one of the
fortunate ones to have been warned in time.
