Sinister NYT Plot to Oust Trump from Office

By Stephen Lendman
5-17-17

Likely colluding with anti-Trump dark forces, Times editors said his authority as president “does not extend to obstructing a federal investigation.”

No credible evidence proves it - only an alleged Comey memo not seen outside the Justice Department if it exists.

It cites him quoting Trump supposedly saying “I hope you can let this go,” referring the witch-hunt federal investigation into possible improper Michael Flynn connections to Russia - what never should have been initiated in the first place.

Asking if Trump obstructed justice, Times editors, without credible evidence, said “(t)hat is precisely what (he) was trying to do,” citing what they claim Comey believes.

He hasn’t commented publicly nor have Justice Department officials, so it’s unknown what he and they do or don’t believe. Not according to Times editors, claiming:

“He believed that the president was attempting to stifle the bureau’s investigation into Michael Flynn, the former national security adviser, who had resigned the day before amid public reports that he had lied to Vice President Mike Pence about his communications with the Russian ambassador.”

A White House statement denied what the former FBI director allegedly wrote in his memo, saying:

“While the president has repeatedly expressed his view that General Flynn is a decent man who served and protected our country, the president has never asked Mr. Comey or anyone else to end any investigation, including any investigation involving General Flynn.”

Nothing so far suggests obstruction of justice, the legal definition explained in a same-day article.

Times editors insist Comey’s memo exists, even though they haven’t seen it, claiming it’s “very bad news for an administration already suffocating itself in scandal” - mostly contrived, ignoring vital issues, just cause to hold Trump accountable, other administration officials, and practically the entire Congress, a rogue’s gallery of miscreants.

The Times and other media scoundrels keep hyping phony accusations of Russia US election hacking, along with alleged improper ties of Trump, his team and campaign to Moscow.

Long ago discredited Times editors disgracefully said “it is hard not to see the outlines of an attempt by Mr. Trump to quash a criminal investigation that could reach into the highest levels of his campaign and administration.”

It’s clear to see The Times wants witch-hunt investigations pursued for the sole purpose of ousting Trump from office - bashing him for the wrong reasons, not the right ones.

The way things are going, it may turn out this way, another major body blow to a shaky republic on a fast track toward full-blown tyranny.
