Republican Extremists Launch Israel Victory Caucus |

(R. FL), partnered with Islamophobe Daniel Pipes, they blame Palestinians
for Israeli high crimes committed against them. They endorse continued occupation harshness, Pipes deplorably saying “(v)ictory means imposing your will on your enemy so he no longer wants to continue to fight,” adding: “What I want the US government to do is say ‘Israel, do what you need to do to win your war.’ “ “Palestinians need to become a normal people, and…the way to do it” is by unconditional surrender to Israeli demands. CODEPINK activists tried challenging their session, ordered out before they could speak, partly drowned out by an audience extremist shouting “Terrorist supporters out.” Addressing the gathering, House member Johnson ignored Palestinian rights, saying “Israel’s homeland is the land that God set aside for her.” It’s unclear how many other congressional members support the Israel Victory Caucus. They reject Palestinian self-determination, endorse illegally moving Washington’s embassy to Jerusalem and unlimited settlement construction, ending US funding for the Palestinian Authority and UN agencies aiding Palestinians, and securing the safety of Israeli settlers living on stolen land. According to Johnson, “Israel has been at war with its immediate neighbors over the right to existence as the nation-state of Israel, the nation-state of the Jewish people, for nearly 70 years, and we believe that Israel has been victorious in this war. And this reality must be recognized.” He and other Israel Victory Caucus members believe Palestinians are a problem to be dealt with harshly if they refuse compliance with Israeli demands. Anglo-Zionism is the problem, responsible for endless regional wars, Israel a valued US imperial ally. Both countries partner in each other’s high crimes. Stephen Lendman lives in Chicago.
