Netanyahu Consoles Father of Killer Soldier

By Stephen Lendman

Video evidence and eyewitnesses revealed an IDF soldier remaining unidentified killed Abd al-Fattah al-Sharif in cold blood as he lay helpless on the ground - premeditated first-degree murder in all just societies.

His charge was reduce to manslaughter. He’s free, not imprisoned, pending trial, solely confined to base.

Instead of condemning soldier X’s despicable crime, Netanyahu did the unthinkable - phoning his father, consoling him.

A statement by his office said he understands the distress of the family. The IDF will conduct “the most objective and fair investigation of your son,” it said.

“(A)s the father of a soldier, I understand your distress.” He continued turning truth on its head ranting:

“In recent months our soldiers have bravely and resolutely stood up in the face of terrorist attacks and murderers who set out to kill them.”

“The soldiers are forced to make decisions in the field, in real time, under stress and conditions of uncertainty.”

“This is not a simple reality and I’m sure that the investigation is taking the entirety of these circumstances into account. I am convinced that the investigation will be professional and fair towards your son.”

Trust the IDF, he added. “The people of Israel must remain united around the army because we have just one army and we have many great challenges ahead of us.”

Is he hinting at a likely acquittal or wrist-slap justice at most? If an IDF soldier murders another one in cold blood, prosecution, conviction and imprisonment would be virtually certain.

If a Palestinian kills, assaults or threatens an Israeli soldier or civilian, extrajudicial execution with impunity will follow - no charges, due process or judicial fairness.

In Israel, justice works one way for Jews, an entirely different system for Palestinians. Guilt by accusation suffices when charged with a crime, true or false.

Thousands of Palestinians languish in its gulag, imprisoned solely for political reasons. Resisting for international law guaranteed rights is considered a criminal offense.

Self-defense is called terrorism. Accountability didn’t follow Israel’s summer 2014 massacre of 2,250 Palestinians, including 551 children and 299 women, injuring over 11,000 others, and turning large parts of Gaza to rubble.

US and Israeli killing machines are the world’s greatest threat. Nuclear armed rogue states committing murder unaccountably threaten everyone.
