Nation Magazine - Imperial Tool

Nation magazine has been around since 1865 - often betraying its founding pledge “not (to) be the organ of any party, sect or body.”

It accepts Soros and other corporate funding, permitting its editorial policy to go so far without crossing forbidden red lines like explaining 9/11 truth.

Decades earlier, it was unapologetic about slavery, failing to support minority, labor and women’s rights - instead endorsed 19th century laissez fare.

In 1999, it called the rape of Yugoslavia “humanitarian intervention,” initially supported naked aggression on Afghanistan and Iraq, along with running a full-page ad calling Palestinians violent and deceptive. It unapologetically supported Obama’s ruthless agenda throughout his tenure.

Its editor, Karina vanden Heuvel, is a scoundrel media darling. The magazine’s editorial policy scandalously supported war goddess, racketeer, perjurer Hillary in last year’s presidential campaign. It bashed Venezuela’s Hugo Chavez, mocking Bolivarian social democracy.

In its latest issue, it highlighted the long ago discredited canard alleging Russian US election hacking - supporting the intelligence community’s exposed Big Lie, saying:

“…Russia waged a multifaceted campaign to influence the 2016 election (resulting in) a shocking outcome…”

It turned truth on its head, claiming “the troubling reality that the Kremlin’s attempts to influence other countries’ electoral processes have been a problem across Europe for over a decade, and that our intelligence agencies weren’t alone in sounding the alarm.”

It bashed “those who are dismissive of the evidence of Russian intervention.”

No Russian intervention occurred - in America or anywhere else. No evidence proves it. None exists. Accusations repeated ad nauseam were fabricated. The Big Lie persists.

The Nation criticized Putin’s candidly important 2007 keynote Munich address, challenging America’s ruthless imperial agenda, saying:

“Just like any war, the Cold War left us with live ammunition, figuratively speaking. I mean ideological stereotypes, double standards and other typical aspects of Cold War bloc thinking.”

“Unilateral and frequently illegitimate actions have not resolved any problems. Moreover, they have caused new human tragedies and created new centers of tension. Judge for yourselves: wars as well as local and regional conflicts have not diminished... And no fewer people perish in these conflicts even more are dying than before. Significantly more, significantly more!”

“The use of force can only be considered legitimate if the decision is sanctioned by the UN. And we do not need to substitute NATO or the EU for the UN.”

According to the Nation, he “decided to fight fire with fire,” repeating disinformation and Big Lies reported by other media scoundrels.

Citing unnamed “analysts,” the Nation disgracefully claimed Russia’s “motives are relatively straightforward. As its post-Cold War ‘hard power’ declined, Vladimir Putin’s government has pursued its interests by stepping up its cyber-warfare and disinformation campaigns in order to divide, destabilize, and demoralize its geopolitical opponents,” adding:

“Here at home, the growing evidence that Russia’s intervention in our elections was only the most recent, and successful, example of an international campaign that dates back (to) George W. Bush’s presidency is a serious problem for those who dismiss or discount the US intelligence community’s findings.”

The Nation’s sources: America’s disreputable intelligence community and other government officials, The New York Times, Washington Post, CNN, USA Today, Bloomberg News, London Guardian, likeminded media scoundrels and unnamed “analysts.”

The deplorable article makes traditional yellow journalism look good by comparison - one of many Nation magazine examples of unprincipled disdain for truth-telling, featuring trash instead.
