Subject: This is Monte Franks response to me after filing our CT FOIA
requests on Feb 1, 2015
Kay:
You received an e-mail from Monte Frank yesterday regarding my CT FOIA
requests from Mary Rose Kristoik and from Kathy Gombos the Sandy Hook
Elementary School Principal with notice to Kathy June Superintendents
secretary.
I am having to spend donors' money on simple CT FOIA requests that should
not require an attorney having to do that for me.
Here is an example how the Town does not posses these documents. Why
would the Town have tem when we addressed this request to the Newtown
School Board the custodian of records to begin with?
Now, for the first time we actually know who was the Custodian of the
records for this Jan 28, 2013 Super Bowl Trip to New Orleans with 26
children the choir teacher Mary Rose Kristopik and all invited guests
on the plane who's copies of the Flight check in sheet needs to be provided
to us under the CT FOIA laws. This is a Newtown School Board Out
of State Field Trip and therefore all documents are Public Records.
Again very simple requests.
I have now requested under the CT FOIA laws all copies of parental field
trip approval for the trip, copies of the NFL release forms signed by
parents and copies of the information check in sheet which are all public
records since Mary Rose Kristopik is an employee of the Newtown School
Board and in Charge and representing the school superintendent and all
of the school board members unless they went to chaperone this field
trip to New Orleans.
Thank for Public Records when you can get them since the Town has NO
records.
School Superintendent Janet Robinson and the entire school board approved
this trip so it must be on the school board agenda which is why Jan
23, 2013 was the last possible date that it could have been approved
for an out of state field trip which was part of my CT FOIA request
to begin with even as far back as June of 2014.
Yes, it was the SCHOOL SUPERINTENDENT AND all of the SCHOOL BOARD
MEMBERS WHO APPROVED THIS FIELD TRIP TO NEW ORLEANS WHICH MUST HAVE
BEEN APPROVED DURING THEIR EXECUTIVE SCHOOL BOARD SESSION AND KEEPING
IT FROM THE PUBLIC.
They have been caught with lies after lies and these people are supposed
the best in their community as leaders.
If you are an educator and you do not understand what is happening withn
these e-mails then we in Education are as I said before in serious trouble.
We are supposed to trust our school superintendent and all of the school
board members.
So, now what do we do just ignore what the Newtown School Board did
and give them a pass or hold them accountable just as we are when making
tough school decisions everyday.
You decide.
