Haaretz Calls Israeli Zionist Zealots
More Dangerous Than Hezbollah

Hezbollah poses no danger. It threatens no one. It’s greatly endangered by Israel and America, prepared to defend itself if attacked.

Anglo-Zionism is humanity’s greatest threat, waging endless wars of aggression, raping and destroying one country after another, responsible for millions of casualties.

In Wednesday’s Hebrew language Haaretz edition, columnist Yossi Klein accused Israeli religious Zionist zealots of subversively wanting control of the country, its Arab citizens ethnically cleansed.

Netanyahu called his article “shameful and delusional.” President Reuven Rivlin said his words were “slander that reveals deep hatred.”

Defense minister Avigdor Lieberman urged Israelis to boycott the publication, saying:

“Haaretz already some time ago became a platform that gives broad expression to the viewpoints of Israel haters, but the publication of the piece by Yossi Klein, a frustrated and unimportant journalist who also failed as an editor, crosses all the red lines.”

“I call on every citizen of Israel to stop purchasing and to stop reading the Haaretz newspaper immediately.”

“Klein scathingly slanders and incites against the national religious public, an exalted and wonderful community that has contributed to the strength and security of the State of Israel more than Klein and his friends at Haaretz ever have.”

“The fact that the editorial board of Haaretz decided to publish this article proves that the paper has lost all direction and that the self-hatred of the employees of Haaretz toward everything Israeli and Jewish has made them completely lose their minds.”

In his Wednesday Hebrew-language column, Klein said “(t)he national religious are dangerous. More dangerous than Hezbollah, more than drivers in car-ramming attacks or kids with scissors.”

“The Arabs can be neutralized, but they cannot. What do they want? To rule the country and cleanse it of Arabs.”

If an Occupied Palestinian or Israeli Arab citizen wrote what Klein said, he or she would be arrested, charged with incitement or worse, prosecuted, imprisoned or murdered in cold blood.

Haaretz publisher Amos Schocken said he published a similar column years earlier, accusing religious Zionist zealots of supporting apartheid, drawing criticism then like now.

On Twitter, he said “I can’t figure out what all the excitement is…over” - calling harsh criticism of Klein’s column “poisonous.”

Anything legitimately critical of Israeli extremism draws ire. Zionist zealotry is part of a greater problem, its longstanding ruthless agenda domestically and abroad.
