| Trump and Netanyahu conspired to declare Jerusalem Israel’s capital, flagrantly
violating international law. They share full responsibility for days of protests, continuing for a sixth day, including hundreds of Palestinian children on Tuesday, condemning Trump’s declaration. Israeli soldiers and police viciously attack protesters daily, including peaceful children, responsible for days of violence, heavily armed security forces assaulting defenseless Palestinians, common practice by a ruthless occupier. White House press secretary Sarah Sanders shamefully absolved Trump, a war criminal, an Islamophobe, a serial liar, a moral coward, Sanders saying “(w)e’re continuing to urge calm, and we’re open and willing and want to continue meeting and discussing a peace deal,” adding: “Violence is always going to be the responsibility of those who carried it out, not the president or anyone else.” Sanders ignored Trump’s responsibility for inciting violence, along with Israeli security forces, attacking Palestinian protesters viciously, including use of live fire, eight Palestinian deaths so far reported, four from Israeli terror-bombing. According to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, around 1,800 Palestinians have been injured so far in the West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem - 121 wounded from live fire, hundreds from rubber-coated steel bullets, over 1,000 from toxic tear gas inhalation, 43 from brutal beatings. On December 12, the Palestinian Human Rights Organizations Council (PHROC) said Trump’s lawless Jerusalem declaration emboldened Israel to intensify occupation harshness, along with by changing the demographic character of the holy city, increasingly shutting out Palestinians. “US recognition of Israeli sovereignty over Jerusalem, including over occupied East Jerusalem and the settlements therein, must be condemned by the international community, including Member States of the European Union (EU), whose obligation it is not to recognize as lawful any changes to the legal status of Jerusalem and to cooperate to bring to an end violations of international law, including grave breaches, committed in the (Occupied Territories), a PHROC statement said, adding: “Inaction by the EU will only further Israel’s impunity and would amount to silent acquiescence to Israel’s ongoing settlement enterprise and its denial of the right of Palestinians to self-determination and permanent sovereignty.” Western countries one-sidedly support Israel, dismissive of Palestinian rights, despite lofty rhetoric claiming otherwise. Note: On Tuesday, a drone attack on Gaza killed two Islamic Jihad members near Beit Lahiya. Palestinian reports called the incident an Israeli targeted assassination. The IDF denied involvement. A same-day article asked if Israel has another devastating Gaza war in mind, terror-bombing the Strip three times in the past few days. Was Tuesday’s incident the fourth attack?
