Palestinians Continue Protesting
Against Israeli State Terror

Overnight Tuesday, Palestinians worshiping outside the Al-Aqsa mosque were again assaulted by Israeli security forces.

Dozens were injured, others arrested. Since July 14, Israel used live fire, rubber-coated steel bullets, toxic tear gas, stun grenades, water cannons, and beatings of defenseless civilians.

The brutality continues with no resolution. Palestinian journalist Fayez Abu Rmeila covering daily protests was arrested and detained, his whereabouts unknown.

Fatah’s central committee called for intensified popular struggle, urging Palestinian worshipers to continue praying outside Al-Aqsa.

On Tuesday, longtime Israeli collaborator Mahmoud Abbas said a freeze on security cooperation remains unchanged until “things…will return to normal in Jerusalem and we will continue our work after that in relation to bilateral relations between us and them.”

The Waqf Islamic trust in charge of administering Al-Aqsa urged Palestinians to keep protesting until all added security measures are removed, conditions returned to pre-July 14 status.

Israel refuses, continuing harsh measures, including violent raids on East Jerusalem’s al-Makassed hospital, terrifying medical staff and patients, disrupting vital treatment, especially for seriously ill and injured Palestinians.

Hospital administrator Dr. Rafiq Husseini said heavily armed soldiers and police stormed the hospital, “harassed my staff and other patients and were acting in an aggressive manner.”

“They acted without any legal basis, entering the hospital with machine guns and stun grenades and terrorizing the staff and other patients.”

Head of reception al-Makassed Talal al-Sayed called Israeli tactics “pure terrorization of patients.” Storming the operating room, they abducted severely wounded Muhammad Abu Ghannam.

He died for lack of emergency treatment. A nurse witnessing what happened said she was never so scared before. “All I remember were loud sounds and pushing and screaming. It was total chaos...There was blood all over the place on the floor, on the walls,” she explained.

Israeli raids were conducted on other Palestinian medical facilities in Jerusalem’s Old City, Ramallah and Hebron.

Israel mocks its responsibility as an occupying power to assure the safety and welfare of individuals under its control.

Hamas called for another day of rage throughout the West Bank on Friday, urging Palestinians to “respond to the ongoing events in order to deter Israel from continuing its violations against our people and holy places.”

The endless agony of Palestinians continues with no hope for resolution ahead.
