NYT-Style Putin Bashing

By Stephen Lendman

The Times notoriously supports rogue states and their leaders, notably Israel, Middle East despots, Ukrainian putschists, and fascist regimes worldwide masquerading as democracies. Washington is Exhibit A.

It deplores governments America opposes for their sovereign independence and opposition to imperial lawlessness - notably Iran, Syria, North Korea, China and Russia.

Democrat Vladimir Putin is its leading “bad guy.” A new character assassination commentary disgracefully calls him “egomaniacal, autocratic, (and) (un)concern(ed) for international law, human rights, civil liberties or freedom of thought and speech.”

It quoted Theresa May’s Monday night rant, shamefully saying “Russia’s actions…threaten the international order on which we all depend” - followed by a laundry-list of other long ago discredited Big Lies.

It bashed Trump for wanting improved ties with Russia, yet bowing to US dark forces and bipartisan congressional neocons, going the other way, fostering the most dismal bilateral relations in memory.

The Times blasted him for calling Putin “sincere” in saying no Russian US election meddling occurred. It mocked him for calling Russiagate investigations a “witch hunt.” Indeed so - McCarthyism on steroids!

It raged about Trump saying Crimeans prefer being part of democratic Russia over fascist Ukraine.

It was furious about him calling Putin a better leader than Obama - his high crimes in office ignored by the self-styled newspaper of record.

It lied calling Syria’s Assad “a bloodthirsty dictator.” It supports wealth, power and privilege exclusively, corporate empowerment, and US wars of aggression against nations threatening no one.

It ignores US high crimes of war and against humanity, blaming victims instead for its lawlessness, notably Assad, Gaddafi and defenseless Palestinians.

It’s anti-Putin rage attacks a preeminent democratic leader the way it denigrated Hugo Chavez, Fidel Castro and other notable world figures.

The Times is a national disgrace, printing rubbish over real news, information and analysis, mocking legitimate journalism. All the news it claims fit to print isn’t fit to read!
