| All media scoundrels operate the same way, truth-tellers banished, a rogue’s
gallery of imperial miscreants featured instead - notably on television. Most, or at least too many, Americans are deluded to believe they’re informed, failing to understand they’re fed a steady diet of disinformation, fake news and Big Lies. Sunday on CBS Face the Nation, CIA director Mike Pompeo used the platform given him to disinform viewers. Nothing he said holds water. He lied claiming Assad used chemical weapons on his people. Not a shred of evidence suggests it. Plenty of evidence proved ISIS and other US-supported terrorists used them numerous times, their fighters trained in their use by Pentagon contractors, toxic agents supplied by Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and likely the CIA. Pompeo praised Trump’s performance in office, ignored his war crimes, hostility toward North Korea, Iran, Venezuela, and other independent countries, his war on Muslim and Latino immigrants, war on the environment, and corporate favoritism at the expense of social justice - among other deplorable policies during his first year in office. The CIA chief lied claiming a North Korean threat, a few months away from being able to strike US cities with nuclear weapons, ignoring its peace agenda, never having attacked another country throughout its history. Trump’s tweet about his nuclear button helps the spy agency, Pompeo claimed, saying his “tweet is completely consistent with US policy,” adding: “The president, unlike previous administrations, has made a real commitment. That is the denuclearization of the peninsula is the mandate. That is what we are going to achieve.” “(W)e’re not going to stand for allowing Kim Jong-un to hold Los Angeles, or Denver, or New York at risk.” Pyongyang, other North Korean cities and the peninsula are at risk from Washington’s rage for war - not US cities from any nation. Pompeo mocked upcoming North/South Korean Tuesday talks, the first between both countries in over two years, saying “past history would indicate that this is a feint.” “This is not likely to lead to any true change in his strategic outlook. That is, he will continue to want to maintain his nuclear capability.” As long as possible US aggression remains a serious threat, the DPRK would be foolhardy to abandon its most important deterrent. Pompeo denied a US deep state, including at the CIA, saying “I can’t believe that (there’s) ever been” one, ignoring one of the agency’s prime missions, operating as a secret, unaccountable private army. Throughout its deplorable history, it’s been involved in toppling democratically elected governments, assassinating foreign heads of state and key officials, propping up friendly despots, and secretly torturing detainees. Pompeo called these rogue actors “professionals who sacrifice so much to serve America…patriots of the truest and highest order.” They’re vile criminals, unaccountable for offenses demanding prosecution, free to continue operating lawlessly. Asked about the significance of violent street protests in Iran now subdued, he said nothing, of course, about Langley’s involvement in orchestrating them, nothing about illegal US sanctions causing economic hardships, nothing about longstanding US regime change plans, wanting a sovereign state transformed into a pro-Western puppet one. He blamed Pakistan for “provid(ing) safe harbor havens…for terrorists who present risks to the United States of America.” They’re US-created and supported, the CIA heavily involved in their cutthroat killer activities. “Are the Russians engaged in trying to undermine (this November’s) election,” he was asked? “Yes, sir,” he replied, a bald-faced lie, adding they’ve “been doing (it) for decades, (aiming) to undermine Western democracy.” There’s none to undermine. Washington meddles in the internal affairs of virtually all nations, including by manipulating the elections of many. No evidence suggests the Russian Federation ever interfered in US or other elections. Claims otherwise by Pompeo, other US officials and media scoundrels are Big Lies.
