America Fosters,
Supports and Encourages Terrorism |

| America is the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism, a scourge
it falsely claims to oppose. It’s using ISIS and other proxy death squads as imperial foot soldiers, responsible for mass slaughter and destruction, ongoing because of foreign support. Interviewed by NBC News, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said Washington wants terrorist groups “control(led) and use(d),” not defeated, US airstrikes aiding, not targeting them. They’re “not legal,” he stressed, in contrast to Russia’s intervention - “legally and formally (invited) by the Syrian government. It’s the right of any government to invite any other country to help on any issue,” Assad stressed. “…Russian support…tipped the scales against (foreign-backed) terrorists. (Its) interests are common with ours…” “(T)hey are fighting the same terrorists that they could fight in Russia. We are fighting terrorists that could be fighting in Europe, in the United States, anywhere in the world.” Putin opposes terrorism. America and its allies support it. “My war is to protect Syria,” Assad stressed. It’s not about him remaining in power or leaving. “If (Syrians) want me to leave, I’m going to leave,” he explained. On July 15, John Kerry is in Moscow on day two of his visit - aiming to get Russia to bend to America’s will in Syria, Ukraine and likely elsewhere on the phony pretext of cooperating in combating terrorism. According to Putin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, “(t)he issue of direct anti-terrorist cooperation between (US and Russian) militaries hasn’t been discussed. Unfortunately, we haven’t come closer to real cooperation in order to raise the efficiency of anti-terrorist efforts in Syria.” On Thursday, White House spokesman Josh Earnest was less than candid, saying Washington “welcome(s) a military contribution from Russia (in combating) ISIL and al-Qaeda’s presence in Syria.” “Unfortunately, we’ve seen them devote too much of their attention to using their military might to prop up the Assad regime.” Fact: Putin supports international law. Obama flagrantly breaches it repeatedly. Fact: Putin supports Syrian sovereignty, its territorial integrity and the right of its people alone to decide who’ll lead them - free from imperial meddling. Fact: Putin wants the scourge of terrorism eliminated. Obama actively supports it. US wars continue because Washington uses them to advance its imperium. Bipartisan complicity bears full responsibility. Kerry’s mission to enlist Russian support fell flat, interests of both countries intractably apart. Stephen Lendman lives in Chicago.
