My last column, 9/11 - Why Are Americans Afraid Of The Truth? drew the expected death threats, profanity laced emails, including why I should have my female private parts spread out in the desert for rats to feed on. I wonder if their mothers would be proud? Each and every one of those emailers defended Dick Cheney. Despite their false bravado, all are cowards afraid of the truth.

But, really, how much does the average American really know about Dick Cheney other than the official, sanitized bio? Well, he was vice-president. He was Secretary of Defense. Back in the 80s, he served in Congress and in the 70s, was WH Chief of Staff under Gerald Ford. Cheney is a war mongering neocon who pays little attention to the U.S. Constitution. Here is an example:

Dick Cheney ordered the CIA to conceal counter-terrorism plan from Congress: "The former US vice-president Dick Cheney ordered the CIA conceal a highly secret counter-terrorist programme from Congress for eight years, possibly in breach of long-standing oversight laws." Who was Cheney to order the CIA to do anything?

Cheney's Shadow Government. "Seymour Hersh has been going around the country telling of a much more extensive assassination program that reported directly to Cheney. "It is a special wing of our special-operations community that is set up independently," Hersh explained at an appearance at the University of Minnesota (and repeated later to NPR’s Terry Gross), that “reported directly to the Cheney office.”

"According to Hersh, “they've been going into countries, not talking to the ambassador or the CIA station chief, and finding people on a list and executing them and leaving." Perhaps we will soon learn that these, too, were part of Cheney’s ever-expanding portfolio."

Reminds me of the right's hero, Oliver North. Like so many others, I watched gap toothed, Ollie, stand up in front of the world and lie to Congress. Gullible Americans bought his spiel, made him a hero and he's laughed all the way to the bank since then.

How many of those who emailed me have actually read the massive tome, the  Iran Contra Report? I began reading it at the fabulous Denver Public Library when I needed to do research. I set aside time and read. I finished reading it out in California while doing my research at the great main library in Sacramento. For those who don't remember or are too young to remember, this is an excellent overview:

"The Iran-contra Report, or Tower Commission Report, was delivered to President Ronald Reagan on February 26, 1987. The report documented the investigation into the Iran-Contra affair, a political scandal that rocked the U.S. government in the mid-1980s.

"In 1984, President Reagan and other high-ranking U.S. officials covertly arranged the sale of arms to Iran, an action forbidden under an arms embargo. While the extent of the presidents involvement is uncertain, at least some U.S. officials intended that the arms sales would be a trade for the release of U.S. hostages, held by Iranian-sponsored militants in Lebanon, and that the proceeds would be used to fund the brutal Nicaraguan Contras.

"In November 1986, President Reagan formed a commission led by former Senator John Tower to inquire into the affair. The Tower Commission Report strongly criticized a number of U.S. officials, including Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North, National Security Adviser John Poindexter, and Secretary of Defense Caspar Weinberger. The commission ultimately concluded that President Reagan knew about the arms shipment, but that he did not have full knowledge of many other details of the program, including the diversion of funds to the Contras. However, the president was chastised -- both in this report and in a later report issued by Congress -- for failing to know what was going on in his own administration."

Oliver North is no hero. He's a liar who worked in a secret government within a government:

"In 1984, Oliver North directly helped draft a plan in 1984 to impose martial law in the United States in the event of an emergency. This secret plan would suspend the U.S. Constitution and turn over control of the government to the little known agency at that time: FEMA. This plan would appoint military commanders to run state and local governments. Implementation of this plan would have been triggered by violent and wide spread internal dissent, disagreement with government policy or national opposition to any U.S. military invasion abroad. Essentially, it amounted to a complete and total suspension of the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights."

Think Ronnie Reagan didn't know about it? Then Attorney General William French Smith, was so angry over it, he resigned.

How many know anything about the shooting down of KAL Flight 007? If you spend the considerable amount of time necessary to research it, there's no question Ronald Reagan and Secretary of State, George Shultz lied to the American people and the world. They sacrificed 63 Americans, including Congressman Larry McDonald, on the alter of geo political games.

People seem to have no problem believing dictators in banana republics lying to the people of their country. Of course, they lie! They have no problem accusing Reagan or Bush of lying if they're a Democrat. Republicans have no problem accusing Clinton and Barry Soetoro aka Barack Obama of lying. Somehow that is acceptable. But, to state your opinion based on more than a couple hours of researching 9/11, and who was the mastermind behind 9/11, that simply is not allowed. Not if its your favorite Republican.

Some Americans who fight back against the truth act as if America has never had traitors within our borders. I guess they aren't familiar with Benedict Arnold. Hans Max Haupt was convicted of treason for aiding his son who was a spy for Germany during World War II. Ben-ami Kadish, Stewart Nozette and Jonathan Pollard were convicted of spying for Israel. FBI Agents convicted of espionage: Leandro Aragoncillo, Robert Hanssen, Richard Miller, Earl Edwin Pitts. Bill Clinton should have been tried for treason for selling our most sensitive military secrets to the communist Chinese; go read The Cox Report.

People should read more. Try Compromised: Clinton, Bush and the CIA. How the Presidency was Co-opted b the CIA by Terry Reed and John Cummings. Also: Defrauding America: A Pattern of Related Scandals. Dirty Secrets of the CIA and other Government Operations. Written by insider, Rodney Stitch. The American people have been lied to by the very people they have trusted. A gentleman sent me an email with a quote which I looked up; page 7.  J. Edgar Hoover writing about communism. "Yet the individual is handicapped by coming face to face with a conspiracy so monstrous he cannot believe it exists." Another emailer said you can sell people any lie that sounds good, but you can't sell them the truth.

A couple of men with closed minds said NWVs should never allow any of my columns again. Sure, crush the First Amendment because what I wrote disturbs your comfort zone. Doesn't that sound a little like this?

American Muslims Launch Petition to Limit Free Speech

9/11 is a conspiracy of such monstrous proportions involving rouge elements within our government that most Americans simply cannot process it, much less accept facts. In one of David Ray Griffin's thoroughly researched books: 9/11 Contradictions - An Open Letter to Congress and the Press, he asks some hard questions for which we have never received answers. The book recites many live interviews from that day about explosions inside the twin towers. Here is just one example, page 247:

Pat Dawson of NBC News gave a report in which he said: "Just moments ago I spoke to the Chief of Safety for the New York City Fire Department, Chief Albert Turi. He received word of the possibility of a secondary device, that is another bomb going off. He tried to get his men out as quickly as he could, but he said that there was another explosion which took place, and then an hour after the....first crash that took place....there was another explosion that took place in one of the towers here. He thinks that there were actually devices that were planted in the building." But, of course, someone like Chief Turi would know nothing about explosive devices.

There was enough prior warning to at least mitigate the bombing of Pearl Harbor, but that wasn't the plan:
